When using a mobile parking app to pay for parking in Cedar Rapids, please enter zone 5240 for all metered and numbered spaces. Too many people enter the space number as the zone and then are frustrated when they get a ticket. Always enter zone 5240 first, then your space/meter number.
For pay-by-plate locations, enter zone 5241 on the 3rd Avenue Bridge or zone 5244 for the Southside Ramp, the 3rd Avenue Ramp, Lot 44 or Lot 3.
The SaPaDaPaSo St.Patrick's Day Parade & Post Parade Awards Ceremony is back downtown tomorrow at 1 p.m. Setup will begin at 11 a.m. and tear down is scheduled for 3 p.m. Parking is prohibited on the following streets beginning at 9 am.
• 2nd Ave SE from 1st St to 6th St
• 3rd Ave SE from 1st St to 7th St (no parking beginning at 6 a.m. between 3rd St and the railroad tracks)
• 4th Ave SE from 5th St to 6th St
• 1st, 2nd and 3rd St SE from 2nd Ave to 3rd Ave
• 5th and 6th St SE from 2nd Ave to 5th Ave
Vehicles parked on these streets are subject to tickets and towing.
The St. Patrick's Day Parade returns again to Downtown Cedar Rapids, Saturday March 12, 2022. Join your friends from 1 PM to 2 PM for Family Fun.

The Cedar Rapids Turkey Trot 5K returns downtown tomorrow. Cars parked in the highlighted areas of the attached route map will be ticketed and towed beginning at 6 a.m.
To be clear, parking is prohibited from 6-11 a.m. on 5th St SE between 3rd and 4th Aves, 3rd Ave between 1st and 5th Streets, 1st St between 3rd and 4th Aves, 4th Ave between 1st and 3rd Streets, 3rd St between 4th and 5th Aves, 5th Ave between 2nd and 3rd Streets, and 2nd Street between 5th and 8th Aves.
Also note that the GTC Ramp will be closed with no entry or exiting from 8-11 a.m.

Headed downtown this weekend? Have a good time, but please don't leave vehicles behind overnight in placarded areas. Ticketing and towing begins at 4 a.m. Saturday for the last Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market and again Sunday for the Especially for You Race Against Breast Cancer.
Following a slightly altered footprint than Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market, parking is prohibited within the Market After Dark perimeter beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday. Vehicles parked on the street within the venue (see map) are subject to ticketing and towing for parking in a prohibited zone. Note also that the Third Avenue Ramp will be closed from 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday.
During the event itself, street parking outside the market and at Park and Ride Lot 44 (150 Ninth Ave. SE) is free. Parking will also be available in nearby ramps for $5. Those who cannot safely drive home are encouraged to find alternate transportation and pick up their vehicles by 10 a.m. Sunday without penalty. Those using ride-shares like Uber, Lyft or taxis are encouraged to meet their rides near the corner of Second Avenue SE and Second Street SE.

In addition to the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market area, parts of 1st Street and 6th Avenue SE will be placarded for no parking tomorrow for a COMMUNITY BLOCK PARTY by Bridge Under the Bridge. If you come downtown tonight, please do not leave your vehicle within placarded areas overnight. Ticketing and towing begins at 4 a.m. for the Farmers Market and 10 a.m. for the block party.
Happy Independence Day! Free parking is available at all Park CR locations for the Freedom Festival fireworks. Ramp rooftops will be open for viewing the Celebration of Freedom. Grills, fireworks, glass bottles/containers, bikes, scooters and skateboards are not permitted in the ramps.

The Fifth Season Races 8k or 5k return downtown tomorrow! If you come downtown this evening, do not leave your vehicle adjacent to Greene Square Park on Third Avenue, 5th Street and Fourth Avenue. Park Cedar Rapids will be ticketing and towing vehicles beginning at 4 a.m. Sunday.

The Freedom Festival is bringing a traditional parade back to Downtown Cedar Rapids this year! The parade begins Saturday at 10 a.m. with the route going down 2nd Avenue from 6th Street to 1st Street, and then up 3rd Avenue back to 5th Street.
Below is a map of the parade route and staging area. Please mind the no parking enforcement times, as we will be ticketing and towing vehicles in preparation for the parade at 7 a.m.
The Third Avenue Ramp will be closed for the parade with no entry or exiting from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Parking is available for $2 in the Fourth Avenue and Convention Center ramps.

Collection of non-tree storm debris begins this week. Place debris at the curb, keeping piles of tree debris separate from other debris.
N O T E S :
• Please keep debris piles out of the street/sidewalk.
• To help crews work quickly, debris collection is ONLY for items damaged in the storm.
• Crews will focus on areas that have already had a first round of tree debris removal. Do not expect crews on your regular garbage collection day. Trucks will come through more than one time to ensure everything is collected.
• Collection is NOT for bulky items/appliances not damaged in the storm.

The Naturalization Ceremony was moved to South Side Ramp Friday due to damage at the federal courthouse in Cedar Rapids. We're happy to be a part of these accommodations. It's nice to have an uplifting story through the chaos of the last few weeks!
