This place is NOTHING what they advertised. No staff, no friendly faces. I was weighed and given syringes. Never asked if I had ever given myself a shot and said it didn't matter when I should come back and weigh. When I did go back I was weighed and given 14 syringes with no other commutations.
The office area is very small and was not clean. In God's name, I don't think other reviews are authentic. If they are, they came from a completely different clinic in some other city. There was no blood tests or medical services. Rather, give me $400 and I'll give you some syringes.

It's often difficult to maintain our current weight, let alone continue our weight loss, when we are traveling for work or pleasure. If you travel a lot or are about to plan your summer holidays and have a weight loss goal, these tips are for you!

For most of us, traveling often or for extended periods of time results in us putting on weight, not losing it. The reasons for this typically include:
*We eat more than normal when traveling and exercise less.
*We tend to dine out at restaurants/consume alcohol more than usual when traveling.
*We tend to generally eat less healthy food options in favor of tastier options when traveling.

The secret to at least maintaining our current weight while traveling is trying to maintain our normal activity and diets as much as possible. Of course this is easier said than done.

To help us all keep our weight in check while traveling, here's a list of weight conscious travel tips:
*When traveling walk whenever and wherever possible.
Always carry water and drink often to keep well hydrated and feeling full.
*Take your runners with you and jog or walk around the local running tracks or botanical gardens.
*Book a hotel with a pool and gym and use them.
*Pack a skipping rope (ten minutes of skipping is great exercise).
*When eating in a restaurant, order a side plate of veggies.
*Follow your normal routine as closely as possible but allow yourself to have fun.

Check CDC’s Domestic Travel or International Travel pages for the latest recommendations for vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers.

Exercise and weight loss can be hard to maintain without help. Fortunately for many of us, help is close at hand and comes in the form of our family.

Making exercise a family activity not only helps every family member to lose weight and keep it in a healthy range, it's also good for our individual spirits and helps aid in family bonding.

The hardest part of making exercise a family affair is getting started. Here are some ideas to help make getting started a lot easier:

*When talking to children, use words like "fun" and "play" instead of "exercise"
*Don't make exercise a chore; keep it light and enjoyable
*Vary the activities you do and let your children take turns at choosing what the family does
*Use family walks or bike rides as a time to do more than just exercise together
*Try to combine exercise with learning and exploring (for example, try walking around local parks, your nearest zoo or museum)

Most of us have heard the saying "The family that plays together stays together." We believe this saying is true, but we also believe that the family that exercises together loses weight together and stays happier and healthier together as well!

If regular exercise is part of your weight loss strategy, getting a workout buddy is something you should seriously consider.

There are many benefits of having a workout buddy. These include:

-Increased Motivation
-Faster Progression
-Increased Experimentation and Knowledge
-New and Enhanced Friendships
-More Fun
-Many of us struggle to maintain our motivation for exercise and fit it into our busy lifestyles.

Often the hardest part of exercise is getting started, and the key to exercise for weight loss and fitness is regularity!

Having a workout buddy that you know is expecting to meet you for a workout is a powerful motivator because you don’t want to let your workout buddy down. If you’re working out on your own, it’s too easy to say to yourself something like, “I don’t feel like exercising today, I think I’ll give it a miss” at the last minute. If your workout buddy is already on their way to meet you or is counting on you, you’re far less likely to do something like that.

An exercise buddy can be a great help in ensuring we exercise on a regular basis. Doing so helps us achieve our fitness and weight loss goals, no matter whether we’re exercising at home, in the park, or in the local gym.

Set Goals!

Setting goals for yourself is important when it comes to exercise. Goals help you plan your exercise, track your progress and motivate you when you don’t feel like exercising.

It’s also useful to set both short and long term goals. If you only set a short term goal, once you’ve reached it there’s nothing else to work towards. If you only set a long term goal, you’ll miss the sense of achievement so crucial to achieving your long term goal and you may lose interest because your objective is too far in the future.

Common exercise related goals are:
-Participate in an organized fun run, walk or bike ride
-Walk, jog or bike ride a certain distance
-Get stronger and leaner
-Increase body measurements in some areas and decrease them in others
-Tone up muscles
-Increase general fitness
-Feel healthier and have more energy
-Lose weight
If one of your goals is to lose weight, make this a longer term goal and focus on short term goals that encourage and assist you to make exercise part of your daily routine. If you can do that, the weight loss will take care of itself!

The most important thing you can do is just get started. Once you get going, the hardest part will be putting your runners on. The rest will be easy. So what are you waiting for? Give us a call to get started today.

Still nervous about hitting the gym? This week we will be sharing some great exercises that can be done from the comfort of your own home!

Upper Body Dumbell Workout:
To help you reach your weight loss goals we've put together a dumbell workout which can be done anywhere with just a light set of dumbells and an inexpensive pair of ankle weights.

This upper body workout includes exercises for your chest, upper back, shoulders and arms.

Beginners should perform each exercise for 1 to 2 sets of 8 - 12 repetitions (with a relatively easy weight) before moving on to the next exercise in the sequence. As you get stronger, gradually increase the weight used and try performing 3 sets of 10 - 15 repetitions of each exercise.

What is healthy weight loss?

It’s natural for anyone trying to lose weight to want to lose it very quickly. But people who lose weight gradually and steadily (about 1 to 2 pounds per week) are more successful at keeping weight off. Healthy weight loss isn’t just about a “diet” or “program”. It’s about an ongoing lifestyle that includes long-term changes in daily eating and exercise habits.

Once you’ve achieved a healthy weight, rely on healthy eating and physical activity to help you keep the weight off over the long term.

Losing weight is not easy, and it takes commitment. But if you’re ready to get started, we’ve got a step-by-step guide to help get you on the road to weight loss and better health.

Even modest weight loss can mean big benefits

Even a modest weight loss of 5 to 10 percent of your total body weight is likely to produce health benefits, such as improvements in blood pressure, blood cholesterol, and blood sugars.1

For example, if you weigh 200 pounds, a 5 percent weight loss equals 10 pounds, bringing your weight down to 190 pounds. While this weight may still be in the “overweight” or “obese” range, this modest weight loss can decrease your risk factors for chronic diseases related to obesity.

So even if the overall goal seems large, see it as a journey rather than just a final destination. You’ll learn new eating and physical activity habits that will help you live a healthier lifestyle. These habits may help you maintain your weight loss over time
