Like the whole world, we are thrilled that, at last, Orest's family, like hundreds of other Heroes of Azovstal, can breathe, as their Heroes, after months of captivity, are finally Home!πΊπ¦
But at the same time, thousands of others are still being held in russian captivity and being tortured, and only through joint efforts and publicity can we bring all our Heroes home!
We thank all our donors and buyers for their support and remind you that the works are available on our website, and now is the time to support a real Hero! ππ

The main part of our exposition dedicated to the defense of Mariupol was the most emotional for us as well as for hundreds of our visitors
No one could look away or hold back tears in front of the heroism and tragedy that are illustrated by the photo of Dmitry Kozatsky (callsign Orest)
No one could remain indifferent to the invincible hope
And no one remained the same after this reflashing experience...
It is a great honor to present these bottomlessly deep and talented works! And our mission is to show these photos to as many people as possible until the most unconditional Victory! πΊπ¦
The art and the artist.
We are so proud that our project, "BE BRAVE Art Show," was invited by the Consulate General of Ukraine in Houston and personally Consul General of Ukraine in Houston Vitalii Tarasiuk as the leading exhibition on the 31st anniversary of Ukraine's independence celebration.
Typically this main state holiday in modern Ukrain is celebrated with concerts and parades, but this time the Consulate General of Ukraine in Houston and the World Affairs Council of Greater Houston held our "BE BRAVE Art Show" to demonstrate the spirit of the Ukrainian people in their battle for independence.
It was a one-of-a-kind opportunity to present our BE BRAVE Art Show to representatives of the diplomatic corps who attended the event, members of Congress and senators, representatives of big business, and the Ukrainian community in Texas.
BE BRAVE Art Show is a large-scale exhibition of stunning, young, touching artworks created by well-known and emerging contemporary Ukrainian artists during the ongoing war.
Be Brave featured more than 60 engaging works from over 30 artists at this event.
πAnd we are thrilled to announce that almost half of the artworks were sold that evening. π Thank you all for supporting Ukrainian culture!
During the official part of the event, the Consulate General of Ukraine in Houston received official congratulations from Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a resolution signed by over 60 Texas members of Congress presented by Congressman Tan Parker, a separate proclamation from Texas Congressman Dan Crenshaw, proclamation sharing from Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, and a special mention from Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson, and letter of congratulations from the mayor San Antonio by Ron Nirenberg.
Thanks for the help of the event World Affairs Council of Greater Houston
Thank you, Olexy Ohurtsov, for the photos!

Which is to talk to Americans using visual language about what this means and how it feels to be brave during the war.
"Being brave is our brand; we will spread our courage to the world.
This is what it means to be us. To be Ukrainians." - from the address of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
The theme, BE BRAVE, was created as a message of hope
to the Ukrainian resistance, which remains stoically brave in Russia's murderous attacks;
to all of us who are in grief and experiencing shame witnessing this devastating war in the 21st century;
to all of us watching as truth and freedom are under attack by Russia;
to those who cannot look away;
to those who cannot give up, who feel we must act;
and then "life will conquer death, and light will conquer darkness. "(Zelensky's words on the cover of TIME magazine.)

"In Ukraine, I got a professional education. In addition, I had the experience of working in the main Christian church of Ukraine, "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra," as a master of icon painting, which allowed me to get acquainted with all the subtleties of Byzantine art. This fact in my biography greatly influenced my creative method of creating my works, namely bringing elements of composition and the technique of creating Byzantine painting.
I work with acrylic on canvas or board primarily. Therefore, in my collection, there are still-lifes and landscapes, as well as portraits of people, mythological subjects, and icons.
Recently, I have been drawing inspiration from the folk art of Ukraine. Living far from my homeland, I was fascinated by studying Ukrainian folk art, traditions, and way of life. That is why, in my last paintings, I use Ukrainian ornaments as a background. In most pieces, the main plot of my work is devoted to Ukrainian women. I try to reflect my admiration for Ukrainian girls' beauty, intelligence, and willpower."

Anna Vereshchaka https://www.instagram.com/anna_veriki was born in Chernihiv, Ukraine, 2002. In 2019 she graduated from the Taras Shevchenko State Art School. In 2019 she entered the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture at the Faculty of Painting. The works are created on canvases with acrylic, oil and enamel. It is this combination of matte and glossy coating that creates the necessary reality of feeling different states in one object. The lack of color draws attention to the essence of the image.

Olena Papka is the next artist participating in our BE BRAVE Art Show at the Art Gallery ArtUs Co that will start on August 6 to 14.
The Grand Opening is on August 6, at 7 PM.
Melodic Ukrainian music π΅, complimentary drinksπ·, and bites, Consul General of Ukraine and, hopefully, mass media π
Olena's work is characterized by two styles - decorative realism and naive art. However, the dominant image throughout her work is the image of a woman in different states - from tender and light to intense and strong-willed.
Figurative, predominantly female images dominate her work: an infinite variety of states and manifestations, from gentle and light to aggressive and very powerful. Despite the current events that resonate with pain in everyone's heart, the artist is filled with the power to create and record the war's history on the canvas in her stylistic understanding. Innocent people today hear, see, and feel the atrocities on the part of the Russian occupiers. Depicting something vulnerable, the artist seeks to convey conciseness and depth simultaneously.

Let us introduce you to Alexey Kondakov, https://www.instagram.com/alksko
surrealistic Documentary Photographer. We will exhibit his artwork at our BE BRAVE Art Show at Art Gallery ArtUs Co starting the August 6th.
"You Can't Even Imagine It."
This artwork is about understanding and feeling war in your home. Itβs hard to imagine it. No one wants to think about it. Everyone feels that they have a lucky ticket in life. And itβs easy to stay away if you don't know what war is and you just get tired of seeing the news.
Unfortunately, only those who have seen the war can truly understand.
The photograph was taken near Lukyanivska metro station, which is near the center of Kyiv.
A Russian missile hit a civilian house early morning on March 15.
Kyiv-based artist Alexey Kondakov uses surrealistic documentary photography to superimpose figures from classical artwork into everyday scenes of modern life. He is renowned for his Photoshopped collage series in which Kyiv, Ukraine, served as the backdrop for characters from old-world masterpieces. The artist merges the past and the present, showing with a deft eye how classical figures fit seamlessly into contemporary situations that, in themselves, are timeless.

Our next shout-out is to Yana Hudzan.
https://www.instagram.com/yanahudzan/
We will present her artworks at BE BRAVE Art Show at Art Gallery ArtUs Co ArtUs Co in Austin, TX, on August 6-14.
Yana graduated from the Lviv National Academy of Arts (2012-2016) - the restoration of works of art; (2016-2018) - Department of Sacred Art.
Yana came to her painting style and technique through iconography, characterized by symbolism and inner light, expressiveness of composition, and image as a sign. She combines realistic elements with planar, transparent, and illuminated from within in her works - with deaf, gray parts. The iconographic expressiveness of the images is based on this contrast.
Her pieces are in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, the Czech Republic, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
We hope to add Texas to this list π

Start the announcements of our talented Ukrainian artists,
We present to you Orest, yes, the same
defender of Mariupol, hero of Azovstal,
he is Dmitry Kozatsky https://www.instagram.com/kztsky/
who became for the whole world our eyes on Azovstal, showing the real heroes of our time!
By exhibiting his photo, we want to dedicate part of the exhibition to the heroic resistance of Mariupol city, to draw as much attention as possible to the fate of our captured heroes, which needs maximum publicity in the world!
In recent days at Azovstal, Orest wrote on his social networks a request to send his photo to international photo contests and the following message:
"This photo would be perfect for the "last photo" so everyone will remember me like this. The picture best describes me: I can find something extraordinary even in the most terrible. But I believe that this photo will be just the beginning. The beginning of the liberation of all civilians from Mariupol, the evacuation of our wounded, and possibly the beginning of the liberation of Mariupol by our troops."
At the moment, Orest is in captivity, and, unfortunately, there is no exact information about his condition and whereabouts...

With great pride and honor, we present a list
of brilliant young talented Ukrainian artists πΊπ¦,
whose incredibly deep works of the war period
will allow us to illustrate
all the diversity of Ukrainian bravery and heroism ππ
The theme of the exhibition, "BE BRAVE," was chosen as a message of support and hope for the Ukrainian heroic resistance, which remains stoically brave in the face of russia's bloodthirsty attacks and as supporting the global information support company of Ukraine "Be Brave like Ukraine" ππ https://brave.ua/en.html
"Being brave is our brand; we will spread our courage to the world.
This is what it means to be us. To be Ukrainians."
- from the address of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky
π BRAVERY is in the DNA of every human being, who for centuries had to fight back his land and identity from tyranny and occupation,
π BRAVERY in how the Ukrainian military fights against the superior numbers and equipment of all russian forces
on land, in the air, and at sea
π BRAVERY in how unarmed Ukrainian people stop armored vehicles and do not surrender even in occupied cities
π BRAVERY in how diplomats relentlessly speak the truth about atrocities and call the world to action
πBRAVERY in how volunteers risk their lives to carry humanitarian aid and save people and animals
πBRAVERY in mothers who, fleeing the horrors of war, ended up with children in foreign countries
πBRAVERY in those who decided not to leave their home but to defend it
πBRAVERY in those who, despite everything, continue to work supporting the economy and infrastructure
πBRAVERY in those who donate money in such a difficult time
πBRAVERY in those who sanctify events and attract international attention
πBRAVERY in international support of the entire civilized world and each individual
πBecause BRAVERY and honor and justice do not depend on nationality and place of birth
It is in all of us, those who are not silent, who act, showing courage, each on his own front.
To represent this idea, we want to involve contemporary Ukrainian and local artists, those who are at the epicenter of terrible events, and those who are physically very far away but mentally acutely feel and cannot remain aloof from what is happening, all who bravely fight on their artistic front to give hope that millions of Ukrainians now need so much!ππ
Be BRAVE with us!
and then "life will conquer death, and light will conquer darkness."
