“Truly A Place for MOM”
Assisted living by Covenant House truly is “A Place for Mom”
The vision and creation of Covenant House began with the search for a place of one of the owner's own mother, Imogene. While touring possible facilities for Imogene we were becoming concerned by the low ratio of hands-on caregivers, per resident, in the facilities visited. The residents were not getting the care
they needed and deserved. There are many benefits of being part of a small “boutique” family-oriented assisted living home. What Makes Us Special
We always give our residents the honor they deserve, while ensuring security and peace of mind for the families of our residents. Families have peace of mind knowing their elder loved one is in a fun, safe and nurturing environment. We encourage friendships between the residents and care givers to create a family atmosphere. We surround our residents with individuals who love, appreciate, and respect them, while strongly encouraging a working partnership with the residents’ families. In addition to tailoring services to meet an individual's wants and needs, we also help improve quality of life. We give our residents as much independence as possible, while ensuring their safety. Covenant House is located in a new higher-end neighborhood, with fine furnishings which include upholstered (“disguised”) adjustable hospital beds. Our residents still enjoy all of the attributes of an adjustable bed, but we have given the beds a touch of elegance. All floors are level, with no transitions or thresholds in any room to increase safety. Our Vision and Goals
Our desire was to create a place for our own mom, Imogene. The care your loved one will receive is coming from owners who created Covenant House for their own mother. Decisions are made by a son and daughter in law with love. Our decisions are not made by board of individuals answering to share holders with a bottom line budget, who's mothers don’t reside in the facility. Imogene was in several facilities and always complained about the food, and until we actually shared a few meals with her we did not understand, but we had to agree. The food was bland and tasteless and she was not eating as much as she should. Cuisine was very important to Imogene so we knew it would be very important to all of our residents. We serve exemplary cuisine prepared for our residents preferences, and work with 4 local cuisine partners to insure a variety of healthy and tasty meals. Loving Caregivers
We have been fortunate to connect with the Kenyan community in the Austin area. When it comes to care of the elderly we know that Kenyans are born into a heritage that has a profound respect and love for elders. They show the same love and respect to all elders because it is so deeply rooted in who they are as people. We have found that having caregivers who love, as well as care, are essential to the fulfilling of our vision. Not all of our excellent caregivers come from the Kenyan community, however. Some are “homegrown.”
In Conclusion
William and Loyce Dixon have created an exemplary home which is known as Assisted Living by Covenant House. The name was chosen because of the “covenant" we have with each resident and their families to do everything in our power to insure a safe and loving home for their elder loved one. It is our goal for each and every resident to age in place to end well surrounded by love. If you are now reading this you can see we are different. You have personally taken the time to learn more about Assisted Living by Covenant House. We would love to meet you and have you tour Covenant House and let us learn about your loved one who could very well become one of our residents.

There are many benefits of being part of a small “boutique” family- oriented assisted living home. In addition to tailoring services to meet an individual's wants and needs, we also help improve quality of life. A recent 2013 ALFA (Assisted Living Federation of America) assisted living facility study showed that 90 percent of people reported high satisfaction and a higher quality of life.
