🧩Our first Puzzler Party was such a BLAST🧩

Nine teams came together to see who was the fastest puzzle solvers. During the competition, players of all ages competed for the top prize and the winning team finished in under 20 minutes! 🥇🥈🥉

Buttercup Creek and Elizabeth Milburn Pools Nearing Season End⛱

With the start of school just around the corner, Buttercup Creek and Elizabeth Milburn Pools will be closing for the season. Make sure to take a dip this summer before they close for the season on August 4, with the Veterans Memorial Pool open only on weekends thereafter.

Did you know line dancing is a free class offered at the Recreation Center?

Class is open to anyone who wants to learn how to line dance. It’s a fun class using all kinds of music. Learn basic steps; i.e. vine, rock steps, waltz, weave, and cha cha.

Classes are Mondays and Wednesdays from noon-1:00 p.m. so line up! It's time to dance! 💃

In celebration of National Parks & Recreation Month this July, we're highlighting department staff and teams that make the city parks and recreation system go around!

This week's highlight is our Recreation Center division. 🏀🏐🏋️‍♀️🤸‍♂️

The division consists of five full-time staff and 10 part-time staff that oversee the operations and programs of the Cedar Park Recreation Center.

The Cedar Park Recreation Center is a 47,500 square facility that include two full-court gymnasiums; cardio machines, machine weight, and free weight workout areas; an indoor walking track; community rooms; group exercise rooms; and a gaming room. The facility is open 100 hours per week for members and visitors.

The team also serves as front line customer service staff for the Parks & Recreation department. They help residents and visitors book pavilions, sports fields, and community room, register for programs, and provide information for all things parks and recreation.

It's still July, so we are still celebrating National Parks & Recreation Month! Tomorrow is member appreciation day at the Cedar Park Recreation Center! 🎉

The division consists of four full-time staff and manages over 15 community events per year including July 4th, Live @ Lakeline, and the Tree Lighting. They also manage dozens of programs and community engagements for all ages, park and sports field reservations, sponsorships, community partnerships, and parks and recreation marketing efforts (including social media 😉).

This team has been on a roll as of late, increasing recreational opportunities 46% from this time last year. That speaks to their hard work, creativity, and dedication to recreation.

🎉Last night at the City Council Meeting, Mayor Penniman-Morin proclaimed July as National Parks & Recreation Month. This proclamation recognizes all of the work our department does to ensure our parks are beautiful and our community has opportunities to play and explore.

In attendance to receive the proclamation was Interim Director, Mike DeVito; Recreation Manager, Jason Miller; and Projects Coordinator, John Smyth.
