In a belated showing of celebration for Flag Day, we present you the flag from Fort Sumter. We also send the U.S. Army a Happy 246th Birthday!

Our colors have flown over this country at its best and at its worst; standing steadfast as a testament to this experiment of democracy. It has flown over births and deaths; peaceful parades and hellish wars; sporting events and political protests; and everywhere in between. It has been torn, shredded, disgraced, shot, drowned, and burned repeatedly since 1777, but always returns to its glorious position as a beacon that we as a country can always do better and be better as a People and to remember the legacies and sacrifices of those who fought gallantly under it to preserve what we all hold so dear.
