A neighbor stopped by and took pictures of our tree, pointing out what beautiful fall foliage we have right in our front yard. Just a day later all the leaves had fallen. Thank you, neighbor for helping us to appreciate all the good and simple things we have within arms reach, because over time we may begin to overlook even the things that are most precious to us.

"More than 85,000 Utah households will be without SNAP benefits as the federally funded program is on pause during the government shutdown.

Officials with the Department of Workforce Services announced Wednesday that SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) payments, also known as food stamps, will not be issued for the month of November, and are not expected to resume until the federal government reopens.

They said there is a chance that SNAP cards will not work after Nov. 1, even if there is a balance in the account."
