Charming Prints Photography

This weekend, I got to meet some seriously amazing fur babies at Baldwin Park Animal Shelter and help them put their best paws forward for potential adoption. Check out their Glamour Shots over at United Hope for Animals.

About half of the pups are “urgent,” meaning they’ve been given 72 hours. If you or anyone you know is in the market for a new best friend, give these a look.

Pro tip: Whether you’re the photographer or the client, the right clothes can make or break your shot - not just because of the colors or the composition. The perfect outfit should make the client feel comfortable and confident. Don't be afraid to speak up, either! If you have a specific look in mind, be sure to tell your photographer.

For this photo shoot, I initially had a completely different vision, but Wendy came to me with a suggestion of this great summer dress. In the end, I'm glad she did, because the red of the dress really popped against the green of the background location. Her confidence just radiates in every shot, and it's all because she picked a dress that she loved!

Photographing kids means moving with them, getting down to their level, and going with the flow. And keeping an eye out for shadows, props, and beautiful backdrops. Who says you can’t get good shots in the middle of a bright summer day?
