Welcome to Mission: Debt Free Ranch! I'm a U.S. After a health scare, I was called to confront our $379,000 in debt. Our ultimate goal?

We’re asking our community to pray for us, that God would open the right doors and close the wrong ones as we step forward in faith toward a dream He’s placed on our hearts.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Proverbs 3:5–6

Our prayer is to one day steward 20 acres or more and build a ranch that exists to serve others, not just ourselves.

The vision is a working ranch where:

• Young people can grow in responsibility, confidence, and purpose

• Veterans with PTSD can find peace, healing, and renewed direction

• Children and adults with special needs are welcomed, valued, and supported

We believe God can use land, animals, and simple daily work to bring restoration and hope.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
1 Peter 4:10

We don’t know the timeline or the details yet, but we trust that if this dream is from Him, He will provide and guide every step.

Thank you for praying with us, encouraging us, and walking alongside us as we follow where He leads.

Out door dashing today. Thankful for 4 wheel drive. Roads are sketchy but drivable. Its mainly other drivers you gotta watch for.

Snowed in Day 3.
Ice everywhere. Roads rough. A lot of people still without power.
We’re blessed to still have ours (thank you, Lord.)

Ironically, this would be a great day to DoorDash. The Jeep would handle these roads just fine… but DoorDash still has everything shut down, so dashers are sidelined.

And I don’t sit still well.

I’m not built for all day TV or endless gaming. Even reading, which I enjoy, has its limit when you’re wired to move and work and be around people.

So today’s plan:
Going through the garage and the house, looking for things we don’t use and posting them for sale to keep pushing toward our goals. I’ve already sold the obvious stuff… now it’s time to dig into what’s been packed away and forgotten.

Idle hands drive me crazy progress, even small progress, keeps me sane.

Anyone else going stir crazy right now? Or using this pause to get ahead in a different way?

Day 2 of the cold snap.
Snow and ice everywhere. Roads shut down. Power lines down. A lot of folks without electricity.

We’re safe and warm — thank you, Lord. Truly grateful for that.

But I don’t sit still well.

I’m not built for all-day TV or zoning out on video games. I keep looking out the window wishing I was already on the ranch right now breaking ice, checking animals, fixing fences, doing something that matters in the moment.

DoorDash is shut down. Most places are closed. Even the Jeep that could handle these roads is parked.

So for now, it’s just waiting. And if you’re wired like me, you know waiting can be the hardest part.

This season is teaching me something though:
sometimes preparation looks like stillness… even when your heart wants motion.

👇 If you struggle with slowing down too, you’re not alone.
What do you do when life forces a pause.

Transparency Time!!

This chart is a real look at our December spending, no filters, no sugarcoating. Christmas, bills, debt, cars, food… it all shows up right here.

One thing I’m really thankful for this year: we were intentional with our gift giving. Both sides of the family chose Secret Santa / White Elephant instead of buying for everyone, and that alone saved us a bundle while still keeping the joy of Christmas intact. Less stress, less spending, more meaning.

December wasn’t without its challenges. We had some unexpected sickness that required extra money, car repairs that had to be handled, and we were able to give a little extra to those in need. Life still happened, but we didn’t let it derail us.

We started this journey at the beginning of November with $18,331 in credit cards and lines of credit. As of the end of December, we’re down to just 4 credit cards remaining out of the 13 we started with. All remaining cards will be paid off in the first part of January.

Because of extra side hustles, we brought in an additional $3,000 this month. That effort helped us put $3,373 toward debt in December, cutting our remaining credit card balances roughly in half:

Chase: $1,891.31 remaining (down from $3,800)

Tractor Supply: $900.11 remaining (down from ~$1,800)

Bass Pro: $849.74 remaining (down from $1,800)

Home Depot: $800.15 remaining (down from $1,700)

We’ve also been chipping away at the vehicles the last two months and will be aggressively attacking the vehicles next!

Progress like this doesn’t come from perfection—it comes from intention, consistency, and refusing to quit when life gets messy. Grateful, focused, and moving forward.
