Yesterday, our Executive Director, Chais Ross, had the honor of serving as a guest reader for the Lit-on-the-Lawn program hosted by the Leila Green Alliance of Black School Educators.

Chais read “Ambitious Girl” by Meena Harris, a powerful story that encourages young people to dream boldly, embrace their potential, and confidently pursue their goals.

At Chasing Hope House, we believe that literacy, representation, and positive role models play a critical role in shaping the future of our youth. We were grateful for the opportunity to connect with children and families while supporting a program that promotes a love of reading and lifelong learning.

Today, Chasing Hope House honors Juneteenth - a day of freedom, remembrance, resilience, and continued hope.

Juneteenth reminds us that freedom was delayed, but never undeserved. It is a celebration of Black history, Black strength, and the generations who endured, fought, built, led, and dreamed so that we could continue moving forward.

At Chasing Hope House, we carry that legacy through our commitment to youth, families, and community. True freedom includes safety, opportunity, support, healing, education, housing, and the ability to build a future beyond survival.

Today, we honor the past, celebrate the progress, and remain committed to the work still ahead.
