I've had a few people reach out over the past few days to ask what a service of mine means, Servant Leadership.

Servant Leadership takes respect, humility, and trust. Rather than criticisms, these servant leaders offer feedback and mentoring on adjusting because their growth and motivations are at the top of their hierarchy. Rather than the "what's in it for me mindset," they understand that without their foundation, the ones they're responsible for, there wouldn't be anything in it for them.

Experts often describe most traditional business leaders as managers who mainly function as overseers of a transaction: employees maintain desired performance levels, and in exchange, they receive salary and benefits. Generally, these managers are positional leaders—they derive authority simply from the fact that they are the boss.

The servant leader moves beyond the transactional aspects of management and actively seeks to develop and align an employee's sense of purpose with the company mission.

Sometimes the clarity issued from chaos is the wisdom you’ve been looking for. Wisdom doesn’t come from always doing things righ. The wisest people understand the struggles, obstacles, and then, overcoming them.

The attempt to destroy and discourage is only a refining process of development.

Wherever there is danger, there lurks opportunity; wherever there is opportunity, there lurks danger. The two are inseparable.

The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.

When the struggle is real, your strength is developing. Wisdom comes from the struggle, not from standing and waiting.

You can’t enjoy the colors and fragrance of flowers without the rain. Muscles are made from the tearing of fibers. We want to get to the good part so badly, we’ll miss the wisdom gained from the disappointment.

Success is failure turned inside out.

Winners are not afraid of losing, but losers are. Failure is part of the process of success. People who avoid failure also avoid success.

Something so simple, yet we do it all the time. Let God answer. He knows better than we do anyway. “No” is one letter away from “now.”

You’re either going through a storm, coming out of one or about to go through it. Keep pushing forward. It gets better.

The size of the devil is in direct correlation to the size of your blessing.

Have you ever been here? Water boils at 212°C, yet sometimes we stop at 211°C. That one degree is the difference between hot water and boiling water.

“Forged by fire.” How many of us have had trying situations make who we presently are? How many trying situations have placed you on the path less traveled? What if the path less traveled is the one you’re being lead to take? What if the path beaten path keeps leading you to the path less taken? Adversity prepares us.

Think about this. After a storm a mushroom appears, which can be easily kicked over. However an oak tree takes years to grow, but can’t be pushed over. When you think about it an oak tree is one stubborn nut that refused to give up.

Your beginning doesn’t have to be elaborate. You pour the foundation before you build the structure.

Out with the old, and in with the new.
