Had an amazing day at the Ashole Cigar Bar & Lounge and Camdenton Fi****ms range last week. Ben and Diane hosted our group of 12 for our FBI NA reunion trip. All I can say is wow. First class operation and awesome time had by all. Glad to be able to call Ben and Diane our friends. If you haven’t been you need to check this place out. Hidden gem for sure and amazing owners. See you guys soon! Thanks for everything!

After a few busy weeks of not being able to visit the Ashole, we finally made it last night. I was told I was especially giddy! 😉 Thanks for the great service and conversation. See ya soon!

I want to personally thank the Owner Dave and his wife for always being so amazing and knowledgeable as I have found many great ci**rs thanks to them. I am Acid guy but recently found I have enjoyed ci**rs that Dave has recommended especially the Tabak as had one over the weekend is was darn good.

Thank you both and I will definitely be back soon my friends. Ashole Cigar Bar & Lounge is definitely the perfect place to buy ci**rs as the prices are amazingly reasonable and they have a very broad collection of ci**rs. Looking forward to seeing what they pick out for me next!

Let me tell you about the best Reuben I've had at the Lake. First of all, I should say that the Reuben is my sort of benchmark sandwich for a place. If you can do a passable Reuben, I'm willing to trust you on other things. It's usually the first thing I try at a new establishment.

This Reuben right here was as close to perfect as any I've had. First of all, they don't kill you with kraut. It was the perfect amount of sauerkraut, and it didn't have that bitter taste to it (I found out later that this is because it's homemade - figures - wouldn't have that canned quality to it).

Second, the corned beef is finely chopped. Now, I have different rules for corned beef than I do for regular brisket. Ordinarily, brisket should be sliced thin, but not chopped. Corned beef for a sandwich is different.

Finally, the bread...it's pumpernickel. I have nothing against a good rye bread - in fact, I sort of like a swirled rye - but it can be a bit overpowering. With pumpernickel you get a good, hearty brown bread with a subtle flavor. Delicious. And the best part was that it was PERFECTLY toasted...a thin layer of crisp on the exterior and light and fluffy on the inside. Seriously...absolute perfection.

Pair it with the "mule" of your choice. I was drinking Bombay mules last night and they went perfectly together. I suspect it would go just as well with a Moscow, Kentucky, or Irish mule as well.

Just a quick word about the bar too...if you're local, get out here before the tourists find out. This is a great place to go and have a drink and cigar. Ben and Dianne are the perfect hosts. True hidden gems.

Great place, good food, nice people. Had a very good time there tonight.
