We're back at it again & making lots of yummy treats for our 4th HJB Kind Bake & Confections Fundraiser @ New Calhoun Auto Auction this Wednesday!

We'll be serving up all your favorites & have added diabetic friendly & gluten free options too! We'll be celebrating 🎉 our country's 250th birthday w/patriotic designs & decor. 🇺🇸 Not hungry for sweets? Check out our hotdog/popcorn/soda combo for just $6. 🌭🍿🥤

All proceeds will benefit our winter street outreach for the homeless/homebound/elderly. Thank you for supporting us. It's because of the community support that we are able to continue. Today a sweet lady reached out to HJB Kind to offer these croissants to help feed the homeless. She'd already reached out to other resources that were unavailable. She was kind to also drop them off at my night job.

At first I was impatient because he didn't get up. He usually comes to meet us. Then my heart hurt for him when he showed me the new colostomy bag. He said the Dr. wanted him to get up & move around but there was just too much pain.😔

He shared that his colon had been full of spots & most of it was removed. He will have follow up care but wow! What a thing to go through living in these streets. We shared what we had to give. It just didn't seem like enough. Thank you for supporting HJB Kind. 🐝😘

Testimony in kindness.

Tonight at work a young man I met a few months ago came in again. He didn't think I'd recognize or remember him but I did.

The last time I'd seen him was this past winter. He was down bad living in the streets, addicted to substances, cold, broke & hungry. There was such sadness in his eyes. I had to do something. It occurred to me that I had HJB Kind winter gear & info in the car. I used a DD credit to order in a hot meal and shared those things w/him. No questions or judgements. Just kindness.

The moment he saw me tonight he hugged me. He said he came to share how that kindness changed his life. He didn't think anyone cared. After that he got sober. He's working a steady job now & is no longer living in these streets.

It's moments like this that touch my heart & remind me why it's important to keep going even on days when I haven't had much sleep & the haterade has been poured on thick. So, when you feel the urge to, don't doubt it. Share kindness wherever your heart leads. 🐝😘

We're getting ready behind the scenes & feeling that excited buzz 🐝 of an event coming together. There are many new additions to our sweets menu including; both gluten free & diabetic options, dubai chocolate bars, apple dumplings, cakecicles, & more.

New on the savory side we'll have all beef hot dog combos w/fresh popcorn w/your choice of seasoning & a cold soda for just $6!

Back roads, dirt roads, not quite a roads, more mud than roads, back woods roads & paved roads. We hit em all out in these streets to reach those in need.
