Iāve learned enough to know the stain on my cabinet doors doesnāt matter. But a cozy house with character, far away from the world, is indeed the goal. Memaw always did know best.
How lucky am I to have not one good mare, but a barn full of them?!
This kidās horse has an abscess so she asked if she could borrow Emily, who has never had a little kid on her before. But knowing how good natured she is, I agreed and wow, what a cute duo!
Iāll never tire of a good mare. ššš¦
5 months ago I decided to start posting videos about horses, ranch life, business, and the lifestyle I love.
This month was the first month it paid me.
Not because Iām a huge creator. Not because Iām famous. Not because Iām a horse trainer.
Facebook paid me. A few people bought products from links I shared. I made commissions through TikTok Shop.
If youāre in the horse industry and have been thinking about creating content, this is your sign. People want your knowledge, your story, your lifestyle, and your perspective more than you think.
Iām still very much a beginner at this⦠but this felt like a pretty cool milestone š
I think one of the most underrated things you can do as an adult woman is have a hobby that makes you ridiculously excited for the weekend ā¤ļø
Iām 41.
And while some people spend weekends golfing or partyingā¦
I drive to my horse trainer to ride my competition horse š¤
Because somewhere between growing up and becoming an adult, a lot of us forget weāre allowed to do things simply because they bring us joy.
So now Iām curiousā¦
Whatās YOUR thing?
Walked into the stall where I kept my first horse.
And for a second, I was 10 again.
Same smell. Same feeling. Same little girl who thought horses were magic.
Still one of my biggest dreams to own this place someday. But today, I was just grateful for the time travel š¤
One thing that made content creation WAY easier for me as a first-time creatorā¦
I stopped trying to create content every day and started collecting it instead.
Iād walk into the barn, stick my phone on a tripod, hit record, and go do normal horse stuff š¤
Ride. Feed. Groom. Tack up.
Later, I could sit down with one long video and turn it into several short videos.
I think a lot of horse people make content creation harder than it needs to be.
Curious⦠whatās the hardest part for you?
What is one thing you wonāt tolerate in a horse for a beginner?
I genuinely think horse people are sitting on one of the biggest missed opportunities online right now.
Most of you have knowledge, stories, experiences, opinions, humor, skills, horses, lifestyle, and everyday moments people would LOVE to watch and learn from.
And the crazy part? What feels normal to you is fascinating to people outside of this world.
You do not need to be a world champion.
You do not need perfect videos.
You do not need thousands of followers to start.
The horse industry needs more honest voices, more education, more behind-the-scenes reality, and more people showing what this life actually looks like.
What is one thing you could post today that would get you started?
Meet Emily ā¤ļø
Youād never know it by looking at her, but Emily is completely deaf.
People always have questions when they meet her: Does it make her spooky? How do you communicate with her? Does she know her name? Does being deaf change her personality?
In this video I wanted to introduce you to Emily and show you what life actually looks like with a deaf horse. Sheās taught us a lot about communication and how much horses pay attention beyond sound.
Share with us any tips or tricks for life with a deaf horse if you have any!
