Up until the past 5 to 10 years I never thought this would be possible. South America is known for its carnivorous culinary ways. Fast forward to 2023 and voila! Almost 30 vegan, and vegetarian restaurants! And not to mention many others that have vegan options. My client is there now and loving it.

IN SOLIDARITY WITH OUR TEAM IN SRILANKA ✊ ✊

Our VegVoyages Team Leader in Sri Lanka and her team are working hard to end Elephant use and abuse at the Kandy Esala Perahera.

If you have been on our Sri Lanka trip, you may have visited the Temple of the tooth (or maybe you chose to boycott it like some of our guests did because of the Cruelty at the Esala perahera held each year!)

The Esala perahera is an event that is rich in culture, history, and tradition but tainted only by its use and abuse of Elephants. The elephants are used to carry cultural relics. On August 22nd, Captive Elephants went amok and a woman got injured. This is not a single incident, in previous years as well accidents including deaths of human life have occurred. Elephants belong in the wild and they're not to be blamed.

We’ve chosen to do our part with our team in Sri Lanka to Create a Cruelty-Free Perahera, when we succeed, our guests too will be able to one day visit the magnificent Kandy Esala Perahera!

Please help us by signing this petition and sharing it among your network https://chng.it/k48BDfJWBZ

Thank you for raising awareness together 🍀

Thank you Helen Prochilo Maley

Please- If you don’t intend to book a trip with a travel agent or you have booked on your own- we don’t get paid for “picking our brain”.

If you value my advice enough to ask for my opinion- you should have us book your trip. Otherwise you should go back to the source you booked with and ask your questions.

We are too busy to look for hotels for you only to have you book on your own. If you don’t intend to book with the agent you are asking advice from- don’t ask.
I will also add that when you don’t use a travel agent, you’re on your own. In other words, if there are issues with anything, and you don’t have an agent, you don’t have your back up. That’s what we do.

Palma de Mallorca is a city with a rich and vibrant history. From ancient civilizations to modern tourism, there is so much to explore. Let's dive in and uncover some interesting facts for your social media piece!

Palma de Mallorca, often simply referred to as Palma, is the capital and largest city of the Balearic Islands in Spain. The city has a fascinating history that dates back thousands of years. It was first settled by the Romans in 123 BC and was known as "Palmaria," meaning "palm tree." The Romans left their mark with the construction of impressive buildings and infrastructure, some of which can still be seen today.

In the 10th century, Palma was conquered by the Moors and became a major trading port in the Mediterranean. The Moorish influence can still be seen in the architecture of the city, particularly in the historic district of "La Lonja" with its narrow streets and beautiful courtyards.

During the Middle Ages, Palma de Mallorca saw a period of prosperity as it became a key trading hub in the Mediterranean. This led to the construction of grand palaces, churches, and fortifications, such as the magnificent Palma Cathedral, also known as La Seu. The cathedral's Gothic design is a true architectural marvel, overlooking the city's harbor.

In the 19th century, Palma experienced a period of modernization and development, becoming an important cultural and artistic center. The city also played a crucial role in the Spanish Civil War, with the historic Bellver Castle serving as a military base.

Today, Palma de Mallorca is a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from around the world with its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and rich history. It offers a wonderful blend of historical landmarks, such as the 14th-century Almudaina Palace, and modern attractions, like the contemporary art museum, Es Baluard.

The building of the Uffizi complex was begun by Giorgio Vasari in 1560 for Cosimo I de' Medici as a means to consolidate his administrative control of the various committees, agencies, and guilds established in Florence's Republican past so as to accommodate them all one place, hence the name uffizi, "offices". The construction was later continued by Alfonso Parigi and Bernardo Buontalenti; it was completed in 1581. The top floor was made into a gallery for the family and their guests.

Mount Stromboli has been in almost continuous eruption for the past 2,000–5,000 years;[6] its last serious one occurred in 1921.[4] A pattern of eruption is maintained in which explosions occur at the summit craters, with mild to moderate eruptions of incandescent volcanic bombs, a type of tephra, at intervals ranging from minutes to hours. This pattern of Strombolian eruption, as it is known, is also observed at other volcanoes worldwide

It was a city enlivened by violent passions and endowed with a flair that was in a class of its own .
