A poet local to Butler Pennsylvania. My work covers feminism and disability with a tone of melancholy and optimism, with the style of children's rhyme.

So much for that artificial deadline. I've gotten well over halfway through the next book of poetry, but nowhere near a edited and formatted article.

I don't even have a working title for the next one yet, oops. It's also November, not October. Have one of the poems from the next book in the meantime. :)

Looming - by Bay Jubilee

In the shadow of a tree
A tree that isn’t there
The shape of branches at my feet
Winding, rustling, bare

The shadow goes where I do
It follows at my feet
It follows on bright, sunny days
And when I try to sleep

I take a hatchet sometimes
To strike where nothing is
My shoulders ache
The hatchet breaks
I swing at nothingness

Well, I've told several people now I'm working on my second book and it should be out by next October, so I guess I've committed to a deadline by accident. Oops! 😳

On the upside, I might actually work on it with an artificial pressure keeping me going. Heaven knows the current events are giving me plenty to write about.

Ad spread is nearing final draft stages! Maybe if this whole poet thing doesn't work out, I'll get into graphic design, these have been fun to work on. (Even if I do hate advertising)

Finally designed business cards! Now when someone asks about my book, I can actually give something out rather than scribbling the Amazon link onto receipt paper. πŸ˜…

Little Girl 09/02/2024

I wrote and self-published a poetry book last year in September, right before life as I knew it crumbled around me.

I left my long-term partner, Charlie (who the book is partly dedicated to), my health once again declined, and my littlest brother finally joined our household. The breakup was needed, the health was expected, and the brother is welcomed with more than open arms, after a long-term battle to get him out of the home we grew up in.

All of these things worked out, but I failed to advertise my book except very surface level. Now, a year later with the dust settled, I can return my attention to my book, now dusty and neglected from life getting in the way. This page is the first step towards rectifying that.

The book is free with a Kindle Unlimited account, and available for purchase without. Here I will share sale links, excerpts, and sneak peaks into the next book. If you want to help me out, considering sharing my work with people in your life whom would get something out of my work. I wrote this collection for the same reason most people write things; to feel less alone, and hopefully have others feel less alone right along with me.

Little Girl Little Girl is a book of poetry encompassing my personal journey from childhood to adulthood. The works speak on larger social issues, as well as a troubled home life, and the effects of being an adult diagnosed with neurodivergence. Melancholy and hopeful. Truthful, but never cynical. The book i...
