Beach Life Tiki Bar
Tiki! - 'nuff said A private island style bar for friends and family to enjoy hand crafted drinks
and another updated recipe this year.. decided my tiki-rita didnt need the simple syrup. also renamed it back to Daiquirita
3/4 oz lime juice
1/2 oz Velvet Falernum
1/4 oz grenadine
1 oz Goslings Black Seal Rum
1 oz Tres Agave Reposado tequila
It's been a long time but thought I'd post my latest drink just invented last week. It's the tropical version of a long island iced tea.
Paradise island tea:
Rum .5
Tequila .5
Gin .5
Vodka .5
Pineapple juice 1.5
Grenadine .5
Velvet falernum .5
Not a tiki drink but still a pretty good drink that I've hadn't tried until recently. The peanut butter and jelly old fashioned.
Screwball whiskey 1.5oz
Blueberry liqueur .75oz
3-4 dashes angostura bitters
Mix and put in glass with ice and top with Sprite
This could be one of my new favorite drinks and definitely going on a menu next year. Similar to shaken strawberry margarita with some differences.
Strawberry fields
Tequila - 1.5oz
Orgeat - .5oz
Campari - .5oz
Lime juice - .5oz
Strawberry syrup - .5oz
I use Strawberry Real for the syrup since it has actual strawberry puree in it and no corn syrup
Hmm, ok i was bored the other day and decided to tweak my new drink the Daiquarita, and because of the change it deserves a new name.. I present, the Tiki-rita.
3/4 oz lime juice
1/2 oz simple syrup
1/2 oz Velvet Falernum
1/4 oz grenadine
1 oz Goslings Black Seal Rum
1 oz Tres Agave Reposado tequila
oh that's so much better imo.
Seeing how I've been "safer at home", I've had plenty of time to come up with new drinks. The drink of the day is the Daiquarita. Figured i'd combine two of my favorites into one drink.
3/4 oz lime juice
3/4 oz simple syrup
3/4 oz Goodland Orange Liqueur
1/4 oz grenadine
3/4 oz Pyrat rum
3/4 oz Tres Agave Reposado tequila
If you want it a little less sweet cut back on the simple syrup.

Happen to come across this 25 year Appleton rum called Joy at Ray's Wine and Spirits. I had read about this but never expected to ever see it locally, so had to buy it. I really enjoy Appleton rums for their funkiness, especially in a mai tai. This definitely has some of that taste, but is much smoother due to the aging. I love the special case and bottle. very much a collector thing and was worth the cost just to say i tried a 25yr rum.
Drink of the day is my version of a tiki drink made with scotch (tiki peat). I don't really like scotch so I substituted larceny but you could use any wheated bourbon. Presenting the Tiki Wheat..
½ oz. Laura’s Mix (equal parts banana liqueur, cinnamon syrup, and dry curaçao)
¼ oz. Demerara syrup
¾ oz. Orgeat
¾ oz. lime juice
1 ½ oz. Larceny or other wheated bourbon
Angostura bitters
Garnish: Mint sprigs, orchid, cinnamon stick

this is a great book if you havent read it. Written by the owners of Smuggler's Cove in San Francisco, it's an interesting history of that tiki bar, tiki drinks and tiki culture. Very engrossing!
Smuggler's Cove: Exotic Cocktails, Rum, and the Cult of Tiki Martin and Rebecca Cate, founders and owners of Smuggler’s Cove (the most acclaimed tiki bar of the modern era) take you on a colorful journey into the lore and legend of tiki: its birth as an escapist fantasy for Depression-era Americans; how exotic cocktails were invented, stolen, and re-...
