Genx and aging is some weird s**t. In my post-stroke reality, I am starting to understand how s**tty aging and health issues can be in a way I did not before. I also have far more empathy for people living with chronic illness or disability than I did before.
One moment I can be fine. I can be at the gym going hard and feeling stronger than I ever have. Then I can be at work or chilling at home and suddenly the world spins, I see double, and walking straight? Nah! That ain’t happening.
It is humbling, frustrating, and scary. It hinders my social life and projects. And it has reminded me that a lot of people are dealing with things the rest of us cannot see.
Drink water, be gentle with yourself, and be kind to people going through something you don't understand. And listen to tunes and audiobooks!
You can find the first book in the Hearts of Glass series, Hearts of Glass Living in the Real World, wherever you get audiobooks. It will help me pay medical bills and is a great listen, voiced by Jennifer Lanham Voiceover .

Fauchie told us not to go to the dance for our own good, Renn told us to go to the dance for our own good while 18 year old Alex Owens who was already a union welder (and cabaret dancer) could achieve her dream of going to to a ballet conservatory and enter into a lifetime of debt. So before anyone tries to put Baby in a corner and Hunter trolls another idiot, check out this week's episode of Likewhateverpod! It's a fun one.
Fauci pleading the fifth on everything, Hunter Biden trolling, then a hard pivot to Flashdance and Footloose nostalgia. Our brains are a mixtape and we hit shuffle.

Artists make the best friends! The artist for the cover of my upcoming book sent me a Marshall Field's delivery truck adding to my Chicago entryway. Carrie Schneider Author/Illustrator is an amazing artist, writer, friend, and hooman.
I had a spell at work and damn near collapsed. That level of fear, frustration, and embarrassment was rough. Coming home to a package that made me smile and felt seen was needed. A dash of heaven in the midst of this hellscape is always welcome.
I've not bought one piece on this wall. They all have a story and have come from love or appreciation.
July 29, 1983. National Lampoon's Vacation was released. Life rarely gives us the trip we planned. But along the way there is the music, the people in the car, the bad jokes, the stubborn hope, and maybe even the ability to laugh when everything goes sideways.
That's all I got today. I have to go do a capitalism now. Yesterday was first workout since the procedure and ow (but a good ow)!
Stay totally awesome!
Stay true to you!

Got a question after the shameless sh*tty plug with heart and a point.
Nostalgia. Do we really miss the mall and the club or something deeper?
I do not think we miss Ruby Tuesday, Orange Julius, Record Town, and cigarette smoke under neon lights in a dank club.
I think we miss having a place to go or belong. Somewhere your friends were already waiting and you felt like you belonged.
That is the world of my Hearts of Glass series.
On the surface, it is an eighties love story in a mall. But it's really about wounded young people surviving and becoming a found family. The nostalgia gets you through the door. Cassie, Ford, Jenny, Doug, and the rest of the misfits are why you stay.
Tell me about surviving trauma and the friends that got you through hell.
