Are you looking for natural ways to find relief from your allergies? Why not try some of these strategies?

🧀 Dietary Changes - Try removing common food sensitivities like gluten, dairy and sugar that can lead to immune system dysregulation.
🌫 Clean the air. Make sure to clean your car and home air filtration systems.
💦 Take a shower before bed to wash away the allergens collected during the day. Washing your hair will also help.
👕 Change your clothes at the end of the day and wash your clothes regularly.

Hello! It's Wellness Wednesday!

I don't know about you but my allergies🌼🌳🌾are sure kicking in early this year. I love Spring but I sure could do without the allergies that comes with it.

Echinacea and Immune Health - WholisticMatters 03/15/2024

Echinacea is one of my favorite herbs. I take it almost year round but especially in times of seasonal stress, like allergy season, or when the cold and flu season is active. It's immune boosting properties is what I love the most and is best taken before immune stress or in the beginning stages of illness.

Do you suffer with headaches or migraines?

Getting proper amounts of dietary vitamin B6 and folate may help. When taking supplements make sure it is from whole food sources. The study is below.

Previous studies have shown that B vitamins can relieve migraine. However, the association between vitamin B6 and folate, two important B vitamins consumed in the diet, with migraine had received minimal attention until a recent paper. The study examined the independent relationships between dietary vitamin B6 and folate intake with migraine and the interaction effect of these two nutrients on migraine in US adults. It included cross-sectional data from participants aged 20 years and older who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 1999 to 2004.

A total of 7017 participants were included in the study, 1350 of whom were migraine sufferers. Results were that vitamin B6 and folate intake revealed a strong negative association with severe headache or migraine [relative risk 0.66 (95 % confidence interval (CI): 0.47 to 0.89, P = 0.01); relative risk 0.57 (95 % CI: 0.42 to 0.78, P = 0.002)], respectively.

The authors concluded that dietary B6 and folate intake are associated with a lower risk of severe headache or migraine in adults. Furthermore, a high level of vitamin B6 and folate intake (vitamin B6 intake ≥ 2.39 mg/day and folate intake ≥ 502.01 ug/day) may present a synergistic interaction in relieving migraine. The mechanism might include a lowering of homocysteine levels.
