John the Baptist had but one mission: to proclaim the coming of another. That is why Jesus called him the greatest. What, then, does this mean for us today in how we profess our faith?

When Jesus is Lifted Up
June 22, 2026
How do you respond when people ask you what you do? Is your response task-oriented, vision-focused, or people-oriented? God’s vision is to establish His kingdom, accomplishing tasks through servant leaders that involve and influence people. Whatever you do, whatever your role, servant leadership is the way you inject eternal significance into your daily activities and relationships. What do you do?
For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building. By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care.—1 Corinthians 3:9-10
Prayer: Lord, help me to remember that I am Your co-worker, enlisted into Your service, for Your purposes, according to Your plan. Thank You for giving me a role to play in what You are doing in the world. Remind me that what I do and how I do it matters to You and to others. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen

Anyone who asks for greater faith has not considered the potency of the mustard seed. Sometimes the impossible begins exactly where you stopped fighting against it.

To Be Holy
June 17, 2026
Holiness, “other-ness,” this is the essence of God’s character. He is holy, separate from us, and set apart. Jesus calls us to be holy, to be perfect, to allow our relationship with Him to so permeate our lives that it overflows in love for God and others as we lead like Jesus. How different are you from the world you live in? How will you exhibit God’s nature to those around you today?
Just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”—1 Peter 1:15-16
Prayer: Jesus, I want to be holy, set apart, just as You were holy and lived a life set apart to God’s purposes, a life defined by love for God and others. Thank You for setting me apart through Your Spirit living within me. Live and love through me today, I ask in Your name, Amen
One Step at a Time
June 15, 2026
As Jesus prepared to return to heaven after His resurrection, the disciples eagerly asked about the next step in God’s plan. Even though Jesus had already given them their mission and told them their next step, as we so often do, they ran ahead of Him in their thinking. What has God told you to do to make disciples?
They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”—Acts 1:10-11
Prayer: Lord, when I, like the disciples, ask You about things I don’t yet need to know, remind me to faithfully do the things You have already revealed. I want You to find me faithfully serving You when You return. I pray in this in Your name, Amen
Are You Willing?
June 12, 2026
Jesus’ starting point for ministry typically seems to be the needs of people. Consider His compassion in feeding the 4000 and 5000, healing the blind and lame, and answering the questions of ordinary people. Has He not called you, His follower, to do likewise? Who will you minister to at their point of need today?
A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.—Mark 1:40-42
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for being willing to meet me in my need just as You met the l***r in his need. Your willingness to heal, to forgive, to cleanse, and to restore reveals the Father’s heart. Give me a willing heart so that I, too, can serve people at their point of need. I ask in Your name, Amen
