Pomme De Terre Fishing Report

12/06/21

Lake Conditions

Lake Level: 839.42

Water Temp: 50-54 degrees

Water condition: The lake is currently .42 feet high, up slightly from a week ago. The water clarity is stained and getting clearer. They are running 50 cfs of water which will keep the level stable.

Crappie

Action: Good

Pattern: Brush piles in 15-25’ of water are holding several crappie. A vertical presentation over the top of brush has been best. The crappie are on top of the brush approximately 1 foot. However, with the front on Monday morning, look for them to be in the brush and tight to cover for a few days.
Standing timber along channel edges and bluffs are holding quality crappie. The crappie are 4-16 feet deep in 15-30 feet of water. Vertical jigging has been the best bite.

Lures: The best bite has been on Crappie Slammers fat shad jigs. In the main lake area natural colors have been the best. In the upper ends a dark color or any combination with chartreuse has been best.

Helpful hint: Fish slow but move often.

Bass

Action: Good

Pattern: Look for chunk rock banks that are fairly steep. Throw a moving crankbait or slow down and shakey head or ned rig.

Lures: A Rock Crawler or wiggle wart crank bait in a craw-colored pattern. The A-rig is starting to pick up some momentum.

Helpful hint: The water is approaching the 40’s, remember to slow your presentation and practice patience.

Big buck down!!!! A good friend of mine had the opportunity of a lifetime and took full advantage of it. He put in the time and did the research. Hard work pays off!!! Congratulations Jase!! This is what he has to say:

From the first time I walked in to I Am Outdoors with my dad's hand me down bow I felt welcome. The folks there have been so good to help me with whatever I need over the years and to help get me deer season ready. This year was no different, they helped me with all sorts of things from tuning to replacing fletchings and everything in between. They helped teach me how to shoot when I first started three years ago and with their help and a ton of practice I gained confidence in my shooting, the kind of confidence that is a must when a 173 inch whitetail walks in front of you. I know that without the help and support of my local bow shop I would have never had the confidence I needed to take a 41 yard shot. Oh and I almost forgot, this was my first bow kill ever. So if you want to gain that kind of confidence and know that you have the equipment to get the job done then look no further than I Am Outdoors!

Lures: Shallow to mid-depth cranks have been working well.
