Christmas Open House at the Cotton Shed Vintage Market this Saturday and Sunday!! Mark your calendar and set a reminder so you don’t miss it. All booths at least 10% off many more than 10%.

In the shop this morning and decided to tackle this turn of century general store (I think) ice box. All wood construction and lined with galvanized tin. This would make an awesome kitchen island or put some caster on it and roll it out by the pool next summer full of ice cold beverages! A great piece of history that I need to research a bit more to possibly track down what store it came from.

Beginning tonight, will be open until 8pm on the weekends through December 17! Take advantage and get your Christmas shopping out of the way.

I’ve collected,restored,and dealt in antique furniture for 50 years. I tell younger people that antiques are the original recycling. No more trees cut down , no factory’s belching pollution making furniture. The quality of materials and construction are superior to anything made today. A new piece of furniture usually consists of plastic and non natural materials. A new piece will likely be in the land fill in 10 years contributing to more pollution while a solid wood piece one or one 200 years old will last another hundred years. And at this time antique furniture is cheaper than the junk being made today. A solid walnut or cherry drop leaf table in fine condition can be bought easily for $50. As any person who searches for antiques will tell you , the hunt is pare of the enjoyment of buying antiques. So grab your partner go to antique shops , yard sales, estate sales, flea markets , have a meal at a new restaurant, find a treasure and every time you look at the piece you’ll remember the adventure you had finding it. More exciting than ordering junk online and waiting on delivery!

This week we're introducing you to one of our fabulous vendors: Jimmy & Paula Courtney of The Bees Knees Antiques & Decor.

At Bee's Knees you'll find good quality, reasonably priced vintage and antique items with a focus on a French country theme. Jimmy and Paula love the hunt and are hoping to take their hunt overseas during a trip to France soon.

You can find Bee's Knees at the end row A in booth PW14. They have a second booth in The Mercantile in booth H1. If you need help finding them, just ask our friendly staff and they'll be happy to take you there. In fact, our friendly staff are Jimmy's and Paula's favorite thing about The Cotton Shed!
