Went in yesterday to "quick fix" 1 thing and ended up with a new centerpiece 🤷🏽‍♀️ And I wonder why my husband never believes I can "run in real quick" or "I won't be but just a minute" 🙄 Finished setting it all up today. Also, please come buy my stuff because I have too much 🫣 Also, a customer bought my big garden/dry sink aka craft table I worked so hard on. Its bitter sweet but I love that someone loves something as much as I do! Its the best part of doing all this. Also, (last "also") 😬 Look at the beautiful hand etched brass candlesticks!! 🤯😍 I planned on them being the new centerpiece but yesterday had other plans 😅

This cutie made its way to the shed today 😊 I added the left over extra scoops in a bag if you need your own to add a little cuteness to your summer spread. I also added a stack of old homemade vanilla ice cream recipe prints if you would like to grab one for free 🙂 And look at that Robin egg blue and cream handle on that vintage egg be**er 😍

You guys........come here and I'll tell you a secret....and a story. It will be a 2 for 1'er 😅
is hosting an Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social this Sunday and today I made the cutest (bias but still the cutest) ice cream scoops from salt dough, (complete with vanilla seeds spots and all 🤣) to go into a vintage vignette I am working on with a vintage ice cream scoop and sundae/soda glasses that will be up for purchase in booth PW07! 🥰😍 Come by and see us, have some ice cream and shop the shed!
Now, for the story.
Growing up, my sister and I spent a lot of summers with our grandparents fishing, camping, swimming, etc. My Papa Lonnie would put us in his flat bottom boat with one end of the rope tied to the boat and the other end tied to the dock and let us drift out as far as the rope allowed and we would fish all day long. He would sit out on the hill in an old aluminum fold out chair (if you are over 45, you know the ones) with an old silver Coors light can one one hand, a s***f can in the other and a big ole smile just watching us live our best lives. He never rushed us. About mid day he would pull us in by that old rope and hand us a bowl of vanilla ice cream and give us a nudge and back out to the lake we went. Me and my sister would get out there with our little chubby selves and get to giggling singing "I scream, You scream, We all scream for ice cream!" and about tip ourselves over we were laughing so hard. 🤣🤣😅😅 Those were good times and I sure miss those days.
I would love to help make memories like this for you and your kids/grandkids this summer, so come on out Sunday and grab you a few vintage sundae cups, soda cups, ice cream scoops and whatever else good stuff you can find around "the shed". You never know, you might even find an old aluminum chair! And if you stop by PW07, I hope you think of this story and if you buy the sundae cup, take the ice cream.....in loving memory of a dear Papa who left me with some great memories 🥰😍🥰

Did a booth restock yesterday. I always love hanging out, changing things up, and talking to my wonderful fellow vendors and the customers. While restocking, I found myself thinking about the difference between shopping for a thing and finding a piece with a story. In a world where almost anything can be ordered online and delivered to your door in a few days, vintage markets offer something entirely different. They aren't built around mass production, warehouses, or container shipments. They're built around the hunt, the history, and the craftsmanship of pieces that have already lived a life before finding their way to us.
A weathered printer's tray wasn't designed as décor. It once served a purpose. An Italian demijohn wasn't created to sit on a shelf for a season and be discarded. It was hand-blown to hold wine, oil, or spirits and was meant to last for generations. Old architectural pieces, grain sacks, ironstone, crocks, primitive furniture, and salvaged treasures each carry a story that can't be replicated in a factory. Sometimes that story is found in the details. You pick up a simple white plate, turn it over, and discover a stamp from England. You realize it's ironstone that's already survived decades—sometimes more than a century—of daily life. The value isn't simply in the plate itself. It's in the authenticity, the craftsmanship, the history, and the fact that it has endured long enough to still be appreciated today. Those details matter, and they're often part of what accompanies the price tag. That's often the difference between a flea market, a wholesale gift shop, and a vintage market. A flea market may offer bargains and everyday finds. Wholesale décor brings new products into our homes. Both have their place. But vintage is about preservation. It's about rescuing pieces that cannot simply be replaced with a trip to Walmart or a click of a button.
When you purchase an authentic vintage piece, you're not just buying an object. You're investing in craftsmanship, history, character, and uniqueness. You're choosing something that has already stood the test of time and will likely continue to do so long after today's trends have faded. For me, the magic of vintage has never been about filling a space. It's about turning a corner and spotting something that stops you in your tracks. Something imperfect. Something authentic. Something that makes you wonder where it's been, who used it, and how it found its way here. It's the difference between seeing a vase on a shelf and seeing a piece that takes your breath away.

And sometimes, that's worth far more than just another vase on a shelf.

“The rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there…” 🇺🇸

Those words hit differently when you stop and imagine the fear, exhaustion, sacrifice, and uncertainty those soldiers endured in the darkness of war. The flashes in the night were more than battle — they were proof that freedom was still standing. Proof that hope remained.

Today we remember the fallen heroes who carried that burden for generations they would never meet, and the families who still carry their legacy forward with strength and pride.

Never forgotten. ❤️

Yall! Look at the chunky, scalloped Pflatzgraff saucers I found! Are they not the cutest 😍 They are chunky dunk in all the right places! I also scored these Enoch Wedgewood Staffordshire England saucers last weekend and they have the best crazing! I've added a picture of one with crazing and one without. Which do you prefer? Personally, I love crazing! To me its the equivalent of an authentically chippy perfection 😍🥰
