Wood cutting boards are actually safer than plastic ones when it comes to bacteria. As you use a plastic board, it gets scarred. These crevices:
‼️Trap bacteria
‼️Resist cleaning
‼️Harbor biofilms (microscopic colonies of persistent pathogens)
