Attention Resident(s):
Due to an approved Walking Demonstration/Public Gathering Request being filed, the Brownsburg Police Department will be intermittently shutting down local streets from the hours of 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM today.
The planned route for the Walking Demonstration/Public Gathering is as follows:
· Begin near intersection of Airport Road and Sweetmeadow Blvd.
· Travel west to Woodstock Drive
· North on Woodstock Drive to Robinwood Drive
· West on Robinwood Drive to Hornaday Road
· South on Hornaday Road to Airport Road
· East on Airport Road back to the area of Sweetmeadow Blvd.
If possible, please make an attempt to avoid the area to eliminate any further traffic congestion during these times. Continue to watch our social media for updates in traffic flow. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Starting 2023 off right by swearing in new BPD Officer Dustin Johnson! Officer Johnson was selected from our lateral hiring process and joins our agency with prior law enforcement experience from IMPD. We are excited to add him to our Road Division.

Our Administrative Offices will be closed Monday, January 2, 2023 in observance of New Years Day. Have a safe New Years Weekend!

In the messages that are being left they are requesting you call back a different phone number. Avoid doing this. Our department would not place calls regarding warrants requesting a return phone call.

Information from the Street Department-
Our Street Department will begin to pretreat roads this afternoon. We will continue to monitor this winter storm and road conditions and provide updates as possible.
Plowing will begin after at least 2 inches of snow has accumulated.
As temperatures begin to drop, check out available warming stations in the county through the Hendricks County Emergency Management Agency.

Congratulations to new BPD Officer, Matthew Dixon! Officer Dixon joins our agency as an experienced law enforcement officer from IMPD. Officer Dixon was sworn in this morning by Clerk Treasurer Ann Hathaway. Welcome to Brownsburg!

Congratulations to ILEA Graduates -Officer Jacob Smith and Officer James Lynch. Both BPD Officers graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy after a sixteen week course. Officer Smith and Officer Lynch will return to the department and complete their Field Training course before being on solo patrol. Congratulations and we look forward to your future with the Brownsburg Police Department.

From December 16th-31st Officers will be conducting an outside the Blitz focusing on aggressive driving, hands free violations and seatbelts. This grant-funded project allows for additional patrol without using tax payers dollars. Buckle-up and drive safely!

**Blitz 120**Beginning December 14th through January 1st Officers countywide will be saturating the area and working a DUI project.
In addition to daily Calls for Service Officers will be working this grant-funded project. In Indiana, it is illegal to drive with a blood-alcohol concentration of .08 or higher. Additionally, drivers under the age of 21 with a BAC of .02 or higher are subject to fines and having their driver’s license suspended for up to one year. Don't Drink & Drive!

Tonight Brownsburg Police Department personnel were acknowledged for their outstanding work in 2022. Officers and Civilian Staff are nominated by their peers. This year Civilian of the Year 2022 went to CSI Todd Knowles, Operation Division Officer of the Year 2022 Officer Michael Stalnaker, Support Division Officer of the Year 2022 Detective Tim Wells and Reserve Officer of the Year 2022 Corporal Rob Van.
Congratulations to all of you and thank you for your dedication to our agency and community.

Our December Police Commission meeting Commissioners will be presenting and recognizing BPD Personnel for their outstanding service in 2022. Personnel are nominated by their peers each year. The meeting starts at 6:00PM and is always open to the public.

**Notification from the Town**
Power Line and Pole Replacement
Power lines and poles will be replaced at the Main Street and Green Street intersection starting on December 4 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. There will be lane restrictions during this time. Work is expected to last one week.

There will be a power line relocation at the Green Street and Enderly Avenue intersection on Saturday, December 3, between 9 AM - 1 PM. As a result, the traffic signal will be out for approximately 1 hour, but traffic control will be onsite during the work.

Officer See was part of our 2022 lateral transfer hiring process and comes to our agency with four years of law enforcement experience with IMPD and is a military veteran. Beginning November 18, 2022 and ending November 30, 2022 BPD Road Officers will be conducting Blitz 116. This grant-funded project will focus on Seatbelt Violations and Aggressive Driving within Brownsburg. The focus is on speed, disregarding traffic signals & stop signs, unsafe lane movements, following vehicles too closely and cell phone hands-free law. Buckle up and drive safely!

Potential Lane Restrictions Along E. Main St.
The Water Utilities Department will be repairing a water main today, November 9, beginning at 8 AM on E. Main St, in front of the Mowery Plumbing building. Lane restrictions may take place throughout the work. Please use caution in the area.

National First Responders Day – We would like to recognize the men and women that serve the Brownsburg Community and Hendricks County. Your dedication and resilience to your profession is appreciated today and every day!

Today is National Day of the Deployed and we want to give a big shout out to BPD Officer Elsiana Crosby. Officer Crosby not only serves and protects the Brownsburg Community but also our Country. Officer Crosby is currently deployed with the US Army Reserves where she serves as a Captain. Captain Crosby has served with the US Army Reserves since 2014. We are very proud of her dedication as an Officer and a Soldier.
Officer Crosby has been with the Brownsburg Police Department for over two years and had previous law enforcement experience with the Greencastle Police Department. If you would like to send, Elsiana a card drop it by the PD and we will send it to her.


Today we welcome our newest Officer, Taylor Adamson. Officer Adamson was part of our recent lateral hiring process and comes to our department with previous law enforcement experience. Officer Adamson will begin field training and getting to know our community. We look forward to watching him grow with BPD.

• S. Jefferson St. from School St. to Tilden Dr.
• S. Green St. from Airport Rd. to Main St.
• Hollaway Blvd. (Subdivision entrance)
• E. Northfield Dr. from Main St. to Creekside Dr.
• Lincoln Dr. from Lincoln Ave. to the end of the cul de sac
• S. School St. from Jefferson St. to College Ave.
• Southpoint Cir. From Northpoint Cir. To Northfield Dr.
• Midnight Pass from Albatross Ln. to Raven Cir.
• Patrick Pl. from Northfield Dr. to Northfield Dr.
• Hession Farms Blvd. from Settlers Walk to CR 900 E.
• Brooks Bend from Trails End to Winding Creek Trail
• N. 650 E. from CR 700 N. to Oaks at Windridge
• Hamilton St. from Jefferson St. to School St.
Lane restrictions are expected throughout the fall, but roads will not be closed during this work.
In addition to resurfacing, ADA curb ramps are being replaced. Nearby sidewalk areas may be removed and will be replaced after the ramp installation.
