This year, we hosted our first Business Holiday Decorating Contest, sponsored by the Greater Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce!

Businesses along the Christmas Under the Stars parade route were invited to decorate their storefront and compete in four categories: Most Creative, Most Decorated, Retro/Classic Display, and Town Spirit. Six businesses joined the contest, including Kramer Companies, Brightly Art Studio, Mizell’s Barbershop, Rose Promotions, Hendricks County Bank and Trust Company, and C&J Well Co. Thanks to everyone who participated!

That’s a wrap on the farmers market season this year! I want to give each and every one of you a bear hug- thank you for supporting my flower dream. ❤️ It’s an honor to share the magic of locally grown flowers with you! Growing and tending so many flowers is a sweaty labor of love- meeting you and bonding over blooms is what keeps me going. 💓☺️ What’s next this month?
My flowers will continue through September! I’ll be at Brightly Art Studio’s Art Show on Sept 14 & 15 5-7pm each night with blooms! And you are always free to contact me if you are wanting to schedule a bouquet pick up or delivery. ☺️

We had a 🚀BLAST🚀 today with Emily and the rest of the Brightly Crew for Colleen's 6th birthday party. Space theme was spot on! Thank you so much for making it so glittery and memorable.

We are still collecting art supplies! 🎨 All donations collected by July 15th will go to the Brownsburg Community Schools Fast Track program this year! Donations can be dropped off at Brightly Art Studio in Brownsburg. Check out their studio while you are there!

We are collecting:
NEW crayons, markers, colored pencils, water color paints, drawing pads, construction paper, coloring books, safety scissors, glue sticks and bottles, erasers, pencil sharpeners, craft punches, pipe cleaners, craft poms, and activity kits.

A great afternoon celebrating Brightly Art Studio’s Grand Re-Opening! They have an amazing new space and it is a wonderful addition to our downtown.

Downtown Brownsburg just got a little brighter, thanks to Brightly Art Studio!

Today, we joined the Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce to celebrate Brightly Art Studio's new location! The new studio offers retail space, classrooms, and plenty of space to get creative!

You can check out the studio tomorrow during their community Grand Re-Opening Celebration from 11 AM - 7 PM!

We've loved watching Brightly Art Studio grow in Brownsburg over the years and can't wait for the grand opening of their new studio at 22 E. Main St. next month!

Fun fact: Brightly Art Studio owner Laura Gambrel isn't crazy about the color red, so you won't find that color paint at the studio. Other than that, there aren't many rules. This studio is all about enjoying the process of painting, rather than ending up with a perfect piece of art.

We have wonderful programming for developing artists at Brightly. We have several types of classes to choose from that allow preschoolers to thrive + keep the mess farrrrrrrrrr from your house.

Preschool Playgroups

Playgroups are a 45 min exploratory sensory class with caretakers. Each week our activities change making it ideal to attend every week. During the class your artist can explore sensory bins, messy art stations, large gross motor art, big building blocks, a creative book library nook, and easels for free art. Join us weekly for a community experience & social development for your young one.

You have an athlete. They come alive playing sports. You love watching them. What do you do? You sign them up for a team! You send them to camps in the summer. You maybe even shell out money to join a travel team.

You have an artist. They love to create and make. They could spend hours (and they do!) drawing in their room. Do they really need an art club?

Just because your artist can create alone doesn't mean that they should. You wouldn't tell your athlete to learn the sport alone. Can you imagine? Hey baller, here's a youtube channel to learn plays and dribbing skills. See ya later. Good luck! Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? Don't do that to your artist.

How do we talk to kids about their art? How can we encourage & strengthen their creativity? How can we avoid the broad and boring “That’s cool, buddddyyyyy” phrases that we all fall back on when we don’t know what to say?

What I’ve found is that kids want your approval of their art. They crave the recognition that making something new gets. When they say “Look at this!” they are reaching out for connection and, in a way, asking the teeny tiny questions “Do I measure up? Am I okay?” over and over and over again. Do they produce “good” things? Of course they do.

Sooooooo what do we do? Next time you see your child (of any age!) making something new, try pulling out one of these phrases. See what conversations can happen!

Art Teacher Tip: Do your very, very best NOT to guide a child’s art into something that YOU think would be better. This is their art. Not yours. Love youuuuu…… (steps back slowly.)

I see you used (name the color); tell me why you chose that?

I love the way you (make an observation about a line, color, texture, etc.). That’s very interesting to me.

These statements take the emphasis off the “end product” and release the pressure to “do good.” Art is good because it’s FUN! No matter how it looks!

Recently, we sent a survey asking our clients for feedback to help us when planning for 2023. What we heard loud and clear was:

1. You love Brightly. Your kids love Brightly. We are a cherished part of our community. (Thanks, guys!)
2. Registration is tricky, hard to remember among your busy schedules, & money is tight right now.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We want as many artists as possible to enjoy and thrive in our club environments where we guide artists through weekly projects and varying medias. We teach creative thinking and allow a safe place to explore, experiment, play, & dream. We always want to remove barriers; so we've simplified art club enrollment!

+ New monthly tuition. We will auto charge your account for the amount of classes that month on the 1st of each month. Classes are $40/week. A four week month would have a $160 tuition fee.
