Mayor Ray Bourque
Proudly serving as Mayor of the great City of Broussard, LA. Ray Bourque is a Broussard native with deep roots in the community of Broussard, LA.
He first became interested in local politics several years ago after being consulted by friends and neighbors about concerns they’ve had on many different issues. Ray served as a Broussard City Councilman from 2011-2018, and has been Mayor of Broussard since January 2019. Ray has been married to Mitzi Bourque since 1993, and they have two children, Jake and Hailey Bourque.
“Getting involved is easy when you care about the issues.”
I want to invite you to the biggest and best 4th of July celebration in the area, the Broussard Independence Day Festival, on Saturday, July 4 at the Broussard Sports Complex at St. Julien Park.
I have good news to share. Envision Broussard Phase 2A and 2B are now substantially complete. These sections of our downtown revitalization and infrastructure improvement project include the iconic Broussard gears intersection at Main Street and Morgan Avenue, Main Street from W. Madison Street to the railroad track, and Morgan Avenue from W. Madison Street to Railroad Street. I want to thank residents and business owners for their patience during the construction process.

This day reminds us of the importance of a father's love, wisdom, and guidance. I am grateful for my own late father, Raymond Bourque, Sr., who instilled the essential values in me that I hold true in leading our great city. To all dads out there, have a Happy Father's Day.

Our Broussard city employee team and I attended the Louisiana Municipal Association District F meeting in Carencro last night. The meeting was also attended by State Representative Doyle Boudreaux, and representatives from the Governor Jeff Landry's office, and U.S. Senator John Kennedy's office. I would like to congratulate Opelousas Mayor Julius Alsandor for being elected as the new LMA District F Vice President. As President of LMA, I’m proud of the work we’ve done together by unifying municipal leaders from across Louisiana. LMA's mission for 100 years has been to educate, advocate, and support cities, towns, and villages in the pursuit of municipal excellence.

As President of the Louisiana Municipal Association, I am pleased to announce Governor Jeff Landry has signed House Bill 431 into law. This bill requires mayors across the state to complete 16 hours of training annually. This ensures better-trained leaders and stronger communities.
We had a good turnout at Billeaud's No. 3 for Coffee with the Mayor and Chiefs this morning. Join us next time for good coffee and conversations.
