Little Scholars

An early childhood education center with an innovative curriculum which will stimulate all areas of your child's development. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of early childhood education using theories from creative and high-scope educational models.

Little Scholars is always innovating, that is why our ideas and curriculum will always stimulate all five areas of development (social/emotional, cognitive, physical/motor, self-help/adaptive and communicative/language). Through books, daily activities, and each child’s unique way of learning, we can accomplish and establish a curriculum that is best for you and your child’s needs.

Happy World Teachers Day!

Everyone at Little Scholars would love to send a big THANK YOU to all of the teachers that work to make this world a better place.

Without our teachers, life would have fewer discoveries, compassion, and fun. So, again, thank you all!

It’s World Farm Animal Day!

During our Summer Camp, some of our Little Scholars enjoyed feeding goats and other farm animals at the zoo!

Did you know that spending time with farm animals, especially within a petting zoo, can help children to learn compassion and bravery?

Happy World Smile Day!

Smiling is a great way to share happiness with the world, but it can also be an exceptional way to improve your own happiness. When it comes to childhood development, encouraging smiles can also help your child in more ways than you may expect. Here are just three reasons why smiling will help your Little Scholar blossom.

Smiling Brings Joys

Yes, smiling can actually make you feel happier, which is great in stressful situations, like attending a new school. When you smile, your brain releases serotonin, which will help lift your mood and can even fight against depression and anxiety. Smiling frequently can ensure your little one feels good, which can improve the way they learn, play, and grow.

Smiling Builds Friendships

Studies have found that people are more likely to connect with people who show positive emotions. A smile is one of the easiest ways to show positivity, thus sporting a smile as your child enters a new classroom will open up ample opportunities to make new friends while helping your child to feel confident.

Smiles Improves Health

Smiling is great for both mental and physical health. As mentioned before, it can fight depression and anxiety, but it can also improve overall health. When you smile it helps to reduce your blood pressure which relaxes your body and allows your immune system to do its job. If your child laughs after smiling then it can improve heart health as laughter speeds up heart rate. On top of that, smiling releases endorphins which can help reduce pain if your child is injured or feeling ill.

Our Researchers classroom, which consists of Little Scholars aged 0 to 24 months, is always busy with little ones rapidly growing. During this age bracket, children are quickly meeting social milestones that will help them throughout their lifetime.

During this time, young children learn to use smiles, cries, and other expressions to build connections with parents and others, guiding them to what the child wants or needs. Positive responses to these expressions reinforce growth. Young children imitate facial expressions, and even develop a smile by three months.

Infants and toddlers respond to changes in other people’s behaviors, facial expressions, and emotions. They learn to interact as others respond appropriately to what they do. Toddlers will play in parallel—near another child, but not with that child.

Happy Johnny Appleseed Day!

Johnny Appleseed is an American legend that has been celebrated for decades.

Although he is remembered as a folk story, he was a real man named John Chapman.

Chapman spent 50 years wandering around the east coast of the United States and Canada. Whenever he found a place suitable, he would purchase land, put up fences, and begin an apple orchard.

When his work was done, he would leave the orchard in the care of neighbors, pick up his bag of appleseeds, and move on to the next destination on foot.

To celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day, many people like to make delicious foods out of apples, plant appleseeds, or go apple picking.

How will your family celebrate?

“I was looking for a daycare for my little man who is 2, and I was having the hardest time. Iryna made it so easy to set up a tour the same day, Emily was very professional and educated, and most importantly the facilities were definitely up to par. I just recently moved from PA to Brooklyn and I have to say having my kid at this facility where security, and education, and your child's well-being comes 1st has made it easy for me and my husband. Thank you guys.”
