4 Important Facts About Your Car’s Air Conditioning:
We all enjoy the comfort that our vehicle’s air conditioning provides us during the warmer months. Though winter can linger, spring often comes before you know it. Be sure to maintain that level of comfort by keeping in mind these important facts about your car’s air conditioning.
1. Your air conditioning system needs to be serviced. This will most likely be a part of your regular service schedule, but just in case, make sure to get your air conditioning system serviced on a regular basis. This should be done at least every two years, but an annual service is certainly ideal. All systems will leak from time to time – such as refrigerant escaping from the pipes – so it is important to stay on top of this. It will also ensure overall performance of the system.
2. You can make its job easier before you turn it on. It’s important to know the best and most efficient way to cool your car. On a hot day, first lower the windows to allow the hot air to escape, and set the system to recirculate. This way the hot air escapes as you start to drive, and it is easier for the system to cool already cooled air. Also, because cool air falls, set the vents to face level to ensure that you optimize where the system is cooling.
3. You shouldn’t service the air conditioning system yourself. Automotive air conditioning can only be serviced by licensed and qualified car servicing experts. Therefore it is crucial that you shouldn’t try to service the system yourself. Letting refrigerant into the atmosphere through a process called “venting” can even be illegal. So avoid any issues and make sure you take it to a professional.
4. Using your air conditioning system does not cost you more. While using your system in certain older cars can use more gas, the alternative of opening your windows is also going to cost you. This is because it creates drag on the vehicle, resulting in increased gas consumption. Also, it is important to run your system at least once a week to ensure that it remains lubricated. If you don’t, it could result in additional costs for new parts, etc.
Remember these important facts about your automotive air conditioning system and you’ll be sure to remain comfortable when the heat comes back around.

What Is A Timing Belt?
A timing belt is the ribbed belt that is placed in a specific configuration along one side of your engine to keep the crank and camshafts timed properly. Essentially, it keeps the top half of the engine (cylinder head, valves) in sync with the bottom half (crankcase, pistons).
When Should I Change My Timing Belt?
Manufacturers employ various schedules and measures for timing belt replacement, but the rule of thumb is 60,000 miles, or 5 years, whichever comes first.

Let me share a very funny story with those who are always say I can get my part installed much cheaper elsewhere.
So, a costumer towed his work van today saying that his van would not start. He also mentioned that he had a used engine and a new starter installed in a different shop.
We started diagnosing the van and when we lifted the van we discovered that the starter was wire tied, welded and even krazy glued into the engine.
I had to share this because in my 22 years of working with cars this one topped every single one I have seen so far.
Make sure you get quality work done on your vehicles even if it cost a little more.
Remember: Just because you have a four wheel drive does not mean you can drive fast. It just makes it easier to drive.
Also: Keep your gas tank full. The fuller it is the more weight the car has, therefore causing better traction. Do not wait until the gas tank is almost empty to fill it up; the fuel lines may freeze, causing your car not to start.

Ever wonder if it's time to change the air filter? In order to run, the engine needs a precise mixture of fuel and air. When outside air is drawn into the engine, the air filter prevents harmful dirt and debris from entering the system. The air filter should be inspected, cleaned, and/or replaced every 12,000 to 15,000 miles.
If your air filter looks like the one on the left, we suggest changing your filter as soon as possible.
Tip: We recommend braking gently for the first 40 to 50 miles of driving on new pads. This will allow them to adjust to the rotors and help prevent squeaking.
