Good afternoon, and blessings to all in Jesus' Name!

This evening as we've come to expect in New York City, it will rain. Just not as much as last week. So we'll be at church at 7 PM for prayer and song, and on Facebook Live/You Tube (one hour later). The theme is Friendship, and it will last for several weeks on Wednesdays. Who's a true friend? Who's your best friend forever? Let's talk. We'll have a special song selection this evening as well, so tune in and enjoy.

On the Renovation trail, the next several days should see the completion of internal cleaning and sanitizing on the main floor, installation of new furniture in the office suite, installation of new internet and surveillance equipment, and readiness for 77 families bringing their children on Monday, September 13.

This weekend we will commemorate the events of September 11, 2001 during our Sunday worship on the 20th anniversary. Songs, prayers and testimony will be brought forward.

Stay in touch, and we'll stay in touch through prayer and supplication at the throne of grace,
Sorry! We have technical issues. Join us on Sunday (when hopefully) all the weather has cleared and the signal is working!
Dear Pastor Benke, found your page, you look great. Greetings from Greene County, upstate New York. Jeannette, Toby and I would like to send our best wishes and our prayers for continued blessings.

The Great Sending: God's Heart Beating Through YOU

Meet Rev. Dr. David Benke

MONDAY, March 7 @7PM

Hosted By District President, Rev. Dr. John Denninger

During this online conversation, SED President, Rev. Dr. John Denninger and Rev. Dr. David Benke will discuss the lifelong process of discipleship and being called to God's mission as an ambassador for Christ.

Rev. Dr. David H. Benke was ordained in to the Holy Ministry of the Missouri Synod in 1972. He received the Doctor of Ministry degree from New York Theological School in 1983. He has served as Pastor of the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, New York, for over four decades and served as the President/Bishop of the Atlantic District of the Lutheran Church––Missouri Synod, from 1997 to present.

In 2001, following the events of September 11, Benke co-founded the Lutheran Disaster Response of New York, which provided twenty-five million dollars to immigrants and others victimized by the historic terrorist attacks.

Since 1992, Benke has served on the Board of Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf .

Benke is happily married to Judy, former Vice President for Church and Community Relations at the Lutheran Care Network, New Rochelle, New York. The Benkes live in Oakland Gardens, Queens, where they enjoy driving their retirement sports car on the way to and from New York Mets games.

The Great Sending – God’s Heart for the World Beating through YOU is both the theme of the 2022 Southeastern District Convention and a new book edited by the Rev. Dr. Will Sohns. This book is comprised of articles and Bible Studies on the Mission of God written by 15 Missional Leaders of the LCMS. During these months before Convention, we will host a series of online conversations with each of the Leaders where they will share their insights.
