We seek to ORGANIZE, MOBILIZE, and EMPOWER Bronxites to ACT in order to get the CHANGE we VOTED for in 2008 and 2012.
We are the Bronx Chapter of Organizing for Action( OFA), the grassroots movement that was founded by President Obama and his campaign team to keep Americans civically engaged and combat the gridlock in Washington to continue to move our country forward and keep our elected officials accountable. We want to end the dysfunction in Washington by pressuring our officials to do the right thing for the
country and the people.Generally speaking, OFA- Bronx is a grassroots organization that helps the Bronx citizenry to stay engaged and active socially and politically. Like our parent organization, we are an issues oriented organization. Although progressive in terms of wanting to move our country forward on issues that will benefit us all - such as gun violence prevention, healthcare reform, climate change, education reform, raising the minimum wage, employment, economic development, women's issues, immigration reform and so much more - we are non-partisan and bi-partisan. We we will work with anyone to advance our country and be on the right side of the issues and of history. It is our mission to educate, organize, mobilize and take action at every level of government to make our voices heard and make elected officials do the right thing and what they were elected to do. We are here to ensure that government - at every level works for the people. We are here to ensure that our government is truly a government for the people, of the people and by the people.
We offer education on the most pressing economic, social and political issues of our time. We offer empowerment. We offer a means to get involved, take action and make our voices heard.We offer affiliations and associations with other organizations like us, institutions of power, and access to elected officials. We teach people how fund-raise and bring awareness to issues you care about.
