Finding Confidence Within

Hey Royals! I know it's been a good minute since my last "Real Talk Friday" but I'm back and this one is real personal. Today we're talking about Finding Confidence despite our insecurities.

Anyone who knows me knows I am big on health, fitness and my appearance in general. Hense why I'm an Exercise & Health Science Major. I don't consider myself to be skinny nor has that ever really been the goal. To back track a bit, health and wellness was not always a priority for me. Growing up I was the biggest of my siblings and more heavy set than most kids my age. After graduating high school and realizing how uncomfortable I was in my own skin, I decided to embark on my personal health and weightloss journey. I have managed to maintain a healthy weight and with that I've grown to love me both inside and out. Over the years, I have fluctuated in my weight gain and weight loss, but never anything too noticeable. I always knew what to do to get back on track and pride myself for haveing the necessary discipline to do so.

Fast forward to a few months ago, June to be exact, where I loosened the reigns a bit and decided to live my "best life" by eating what I wanted, when I wanted. And, gym where? That wasn't even a thought. In the moment it felt great. I was enjoying life, good food, and great company. I was no longer the girl that ordered salads at every restaurant. I was happy. Or so I thought.

A few weeks ago I realized my clothes were starting to feel a bit more snug. One thing I hate, is being uncomfortable in my clothes because then I'm not confident in my appearance. Which in turn makes it hard for me to show up as my best self. Subconsciously I have not been feeling "myself" for a while but I still wasn't bothered enough to do something about it. It had been a while since I'd taken any pictures (if you know me, than you know that's not like me), or gotten on a scale. I was fine not knowing the damage I was doing. Once I got tired of being uncomfortable I finally decided to step on the scale only to find out I've gained a little over 20 pounds in a matter of 3 short months 😫. (Continued in comments)

Stop watching what others are doing and comparing your chapter one to their chapter 12. Start living a life that you love and watch your confidence grow.

Allow the success of others to propel you into action rather than deterring you from even getting started.

This concept here has changed my life. Rather than living FOR Affirmation, I'm learning to live FROM Affirmation. God already LOVED us before He even formed us. With that said, there is absolutely nothing you can do that can separate you from His love. Rest assured, live loved because your heavenly father is deeply and madly in love with YOU. Yes YOU! Imperfections and all.

Stop trying to work for love, it's already your portion. Stop trying to find love in people, places and things, God's love is more than enough.

Believe that you are LOVED and live in the abundance of that LOVE! YOU are to die for!!! You are CROWNED for THIS 👑

In full disclosure, most days I struggle to believe this and it often leads to a feeling of complacency which then leads to me being stagnant. Fortunately for me, I never stay there to long because God always finds a way to remind me of all that He's placed in me and how I'm CALLED and PURPOSED for such a time as this.

Nothing worth having comes easy. Consistant hard work and discipline has the ability to change your life. The formula is simple, keep God first, show up EVERYDAY, and put forth genuine effort. God will handle the rest.

Getting comfortable with being uncomfortable is currently the goal. Greatest more often than not requires some level of pressure and growing pains.
