It is with great pleasure that the Massachusetts Wing Encampment Command Staff announces the selection of C/Lt Col Sarah Vigevani as the Cadet Commander for the 2022 Massachusetts Wing Encampment!
C/Lt Col Vigevani is currently as Sophomore at the University of North Dakota where she is studying Unmanned Aircraft systems Medium/High Altitude. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge from her experience in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, as well as her experience as a Civil Air Patrol cadet at Bridgewater State University.
She is thrilled to have the opportunity to be selected as Cadet Commander, and she is already getting started with planning of what, will no doubt, be an exciting and rewarding week for everyone involved!

This weekend, GCS hosted a holiday party with Bridgewater State University Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol and a few Massachusetts Wing Cadet Advisory Council representatives from various squadrons. Three former GCS cadets gave presentations about their military careers. After a fantastic meal, from Oliva's Market, Catering & Gourmet Gifts, cadets enjoyed playing games with a festive twist.

Attention, Cadets: Registration for Spring, Summer NCSAs, Flight Academies Open
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Registration for spring and summer National Cadet Special Activities (like the Space Operations Academy pictured here) as well as the National Flight Academies opened Dec. 1. Apply through eServices by Jan. 15 for priority consideration.
Winter registration remains open. Be sure to check out the NCSA homepage on GoCivilAirPatrol.com for details on how to apply, financial assistance, requirements for selection, and program goals.
The cadet program is looking for senior members to apply for staff as well. Initial cadet placements will be announced around March 1, while staff hires will be notified individually throughout the winter as the activity directors build their teams.

Thank you to our gracious hosts at the New Bedford Regional Airport Air Traffic Control Tower for a view from the “cab,” Sandpiper Air for an up-close look at airplane maintenance, and the Bridgewater State University Flight Training Center for ES training!
