I was going to write a whole big thing about some experiences I’ve had with people not respecting boundaries, consent, etc while I’ve been in cosplay, and why this line from the film is important to me as a SA survivor.

However right now, I want to focus on the growth I’ve seen in this community. We still have a ways to go, but it’s better than it was when I started (in my experience). I will probably get more into it on a live, but for now…

Thank you to those who look out for eachother. Thank you to those who report creeps to con staff. Thank you to vendors who offer themselves as a safe haven at cons (shoutout to ). Thank you to those who ASK PERMISSION to touch (even something as simple as putting your arm around someone for a photo), take a photo, etc. Thank you to those who show cosplayers/people in general respect that is deserved.
