When I was a kid I loved to draw my favorite cartoon characters and now my daughter does too. She likes to draw some of them herself and she also likes to pick things out for me draw for her (usually under her direction). These are 3 separate characters from that we placed, traced and added background elements to.

My daughter says she looks like Nala from The Lion King.

Meet Snugie, the lovable, huggable sloth. I picked up this little guy last year when Josephine wasn’t feeling well and they have been best friends ever since!

Ribbit 🐸 I love drawing with my daughter. I started out not really knowing what I would draw and he became a simple frog Then with the help of my little art director, saying add a lily pad, it needs a flower, he needs to be in water, he needs to be eating a fly, there needs to be a sun, add a butterfly.... AND voila! Our collaborative process revealed!

My daughter and I were studying metamorphosis last week and then we found some caterpillars around the outside of the house that look like the little fella when you swipe right. We looked them up and they are an Eastern Tent Caterpillar that become a moth. We set up a habitat for them in a homemade terrarium and are looking forward to experiencing their big change with them! I feel like many of us are the caterpillar that are at home and will emerge as winged creatures again one day when the time is right.

Last night I joined a live painting tutorial by an artist I admire in the cannabis industry .zy The first slide is my digital painting and the second is the acrylic painting I followed along with during the class. I definitely appreciate the control of digital art compared to a canvas IRL, that undo button is LIFE 😂

I am beginning to challenge myself more each day when I draw in . This is based off a picture from the website. Swipe right to see the picture I used for reference. I am excited that I am becoming more proficient with the tools and that I am able to figure out how to draw things without a specific tutorial showing me how.
