After Ole Miss' 6-2 loss to North Carolina in its College World Series opener, Mike Bianco delivered a simple message to his team.

Ole Miss outhit North Carolina 8-5 and carried a lead into the late innings, but six walks and a pair of Tar Heel home runs proved costly as the Rebels dropped their College World Series opener 6-2 on Friday night.

Taylor Rabe was outstanding, allowing just one run over 5.2 innings while striking out seven. Dom Decker led the Rebels offensively with two doubles and an RBI, while Judd Utermark drove in Ole Miss' second run.

Now the Rebels face an elimination game Sunday against Troy with their season on the line.

After Ole Miss punched its ticket back to Omaha, Mike Bianco snapped a photo with Will Furniss and his father, LSU legend Eddie Furniss.

What happened next made the moment even more special.

Coach Bianco sent the photo to one of the most influential figures in college baseball history—Skip Bertman.

Years earlier, Bertman coached Bianco at LSU.

Now, decades later, he was looking at a photo that connected multiple generations of SEC baseball.
