Congratulations to Lydia and Brent Coomes on being awarded Meade County Outstanding Young Farm Family at the annual Young Farmer tractor ride.
Another great Annual Meeting in the books! We had a great meal provided through Stulls Country Store served by the Bluegrass Homemakers. A special remembrance was said to honor our late board members we have lost since the last Annual Meeting, Jim Scott & Jimmy Brown. We are so grateful to their diligent service over the years they provided. Farm Bureau awarded our MCFB Community Service Award to Meade County Detention Center, J.J. Scarborough & staff. Thank you J.J. for all that you have done for our county through the programs you have instituted. Aleah Hardesty provided us with some entertainment by singing "The House That Built Me". Several attendants received door prizes & one of our awesome agents Jeanna Turner was recognized for 30 years of service to our county. We concluded our meeting with our business reports, provided to us by our board members, agents, & David Pace.
Thanks to all who attended, spoke to us, or helped set up & serve. We are blessed to have the members we have & the dedication & loyalty to our business.
Hope to see you next year!
Reminder that tonight is the Annual Meeting! Hope to see you there!
Join us Monday August 15 @ 6:30 in the MCFB Community building. There will be a free meal with awards & door prizes to follow. All KY Farm Bureau members are welcome!

The digital version of the October 2022 Kentucky Farm Bureau News magazine is now available at kyfb.ag/KFBNewsOct22.

In this month’s edition we will visit with a farm family from Bourbon County who is producing traditional crops on some of the most majestic thoroughbred farms in the state.

We will also travel to Graves County to get a firsthand look at a “Pep Rally for Life,” all in an effort to keep young people safe on the road and on the farm. As harvest season continues, we will hear about wildlife damage to crops and some ideas on how to mitigate those losses.

The last of the “Faces of H-2A” is featured in this edition along with a comment column from our state FFA president, as well as a Candid Conversation with the state 4-H president.

KFB President Mark Haney talks about the season farm families have gone through this year in his monthly column and Down the Backroads takes a trip to the sea.

Our fourth annual “Clays for a Cause” tournament was a blast, bringing in $240,000+ for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Kentucky Hunger Initiative and its nonprofit partners: Feeding Kentucky, Glean Kentucky, and Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry. We couldn’t have pulled this off without our 35 generous sponsors and an amazing turnout of over 300 participants. KFB Insurance extends a heartfelt “thank you” to everyone who took part in helping us fight hunger and food insecurity here in Kentucky. Your support made this event a huge success!

Special thanks to our Gold Sponsors: American Ag, Copart, Enterprise, Farm Credit Mid-America, Kentucky Farm Bureau, Mitchell, Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance, Stanley Steemer, and Truist!
