FUN FACT FRIDAY!!
Why did the garbage truck break down? It had too much junk in the trunk!

Did you know that garbage can pile up in our bodies, as well, causing a breakdown in our cells? This cellular garbage includes stressors such as nutritional deficiencies or excesses, metabolic imbalances, hypoxia (i.e. low blood oxygen), oxidative stress from free radicals, environmental toxins, viruses, infections, automimmune diseases, aging, and more. That's the bad news.

The good news is that our amazing bodies have a built-in trash disposal, a divine design called autophagy, to help us get rid of cellular garbage and repair damaged cells by recycling parts! Is that cool, or what? I could go on and on, but, I won't!

Here's some motivation for you!! It's never too late to start exercising, eating right, and taking care of your health! Take that first step by joining me in fitness classes at the Meade County Public Library. Our library is so awesome to provide these services at no cost to you! You can go to the library's website and check the event calendar for available classes such as Strength&Tone, Cardio Fusion, Yoga, and Zumba. My personal classes are Strength&Tone (Mondays at 9:30 am and Wednesdays at 4 pm) as well as Cardio Fusion (Tuesdays at 9:30 am and Wednesdays at 5:30 pm). FY: My Wednesday Cardio class may change to a different day but same time. I will post it here!

On the polar opposite, heavily processed junk/fast foods offer little nutritional value and are often full of sugar and chemical additives such as preservatives, artificial colors/flavors, and other synthetic substances that our bodies aren’t designed to process. Over time, this issue increases your risk of negative health outcomes.

It’s so hard to give them up, right? The trick is to start consuming your favorite junk food as an occasional indulgence instead of a staple. You may even enjoy it even more!

Let’s get the obstacle of preparation out of the way so you’re ready to lace up and go.⁣

Do it first thing in the morning. We all know how easily pushing exercise to the back burner and subsequently neglecting it can become. Do your daily exercise first thing in the morning to jump-start your metabolism and set your day on the right course.⁣

Make it fun. Getting into great shape doesn’t mean hours at the gym, plodding along on elliptical machines or suffering through classes led by punishing drill-sergeant instructors. While I hate to exercise, I love to play. I find different things that keep me fit. I encourage you to explore all the fun things you may enjoy and safe exercise for those times when you just can’t find a way to play on your own or with someone else.
