We still have a few spots open in the Lego story time programs next week. We will be doing some Lego challenges, building with Legos, and exploring the library's Lego book collection. These programs are free with a Meade County Public Library card. You can register by going to www.meadereads.org and clicking on the event calendar.

Tuesday 25: Lego Club 6:00-7:00 PM You guys made some AWESOME (!!!) star ships last month, so this month your mission is to make an alien!
Wednesday 26: Toddler Time 10:30-11:00 We will be talking, reading, and singing about bedtime this week!
Thursday 27: Story Time 10:30-11:30 We will be celebrating apples this week. We will try some apples and cider, read some books about apples and good ol' Johnny Appleseed, sing some songs, make a Johnny Appleseed hat, and paint with apples. Yup. I said paint with apples!
Thursday 26: Family Story Time's Disco Dance Party. 6:00-7:00 PM
We are going to convert the programming room into a discotheque complete with a disco ball and dance floor. Come out in your best dance duds and boogie! We will be giving awards for the most creative costume, the best dancer, and the largest family in attendance. Light refreshments will be served.

Kindergarten 101 starts today! There is still one spot open in the morning session and 3 in the afternoon session.
Monday 10: Little Princess 6:00-7:00 Miss Donna is out sick so I will be covering the show. (Might be worth coming just to see me in a tiara!) We will be making two different castles, reading about princesses, and having a snack.
Wednesday 12: Toddler Time 10:30-11:00 This week's theme is "Eye see You" We will play a rousing game of "peek-a-boo", read some adorable stories, and decorate some eye glasses!
Thursday 13: Storytime 10:30-11:00 This week's theme is Teddy Bears. Please bring your Teddy to Story time! We will read, sing, have a snack, and make teddy bear masks.
Thursday 13 6:00-7:00 PM Crafts and games with Junie B Jones- We will be sharing a chapter from Junie Smells Something Fishy, playing some games, and maybe even hunting a little treasure. Ages 6-8.

Ongoing: Kindergarten 101 Registration- We are offering two sessions this year. The morning session meets Mondays from 10:30-11:30 and the evening session meets Mondays from 4:00-5:00. We will begin sessions on September 10th. You MUST register your child in order for them to attend either session. This is the last week for registration. There are still a couple spots in the morning session and four in the afternoon session.
September 4: Teen Tuesday Resumes! - 3:00-5:00 PM. The theme this week is "Pimp my Locker", so put on your creative caps and get ready to decorate your home away from home. (Ages 12 & Up)
September 4: Girls' Night Out- 6:00-7:00 PM. Get ready for Grandparent's Day! (Girls ages 7-11)
September 5: Toddler Time- 10:30-11:00 AM. Our theme this week is "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." We will be learning the rhyme, making making magic wands and even learning a little sign language. (Ages 2 & under)
Thursday 6: Story Time- 10:30-11:30 AM. This week's theme is "Its a Zoo in Here!" We will learning about zoo animals through song, rhymes, crafts and play. We'll even bring out the zoo train during free play! (Ages 3 & Up)
Thursday 6: Family Story Time- 6:00-7:00 PM. We will be learning about Rockets during this Family Story Time. We will make a rocket to hang on the wall, make a rocket that really blasts off, have a rocket launching contest, read some great books, and top it all off by launching a real (hobby) rocket in the Library's back yard. Great fun for all ages!

Thursday 30: Boys Nite Out-6:00-7:00 PM. Come out and blow some (reeeeealllly, reeeeealllly, BIG) bubbles! For guys ages 9-12.

A list of prize winners will be posted at MCPL after 4 PM today. Thanks to all you wonderful parents and grandparents who worked with your kiddos and brought them to our programs. And most of all, thanks to all you funny, sweet, smart, beautiful readers who made this summer one so much fun! I miss you all!
