On behalf of the breast cancer patients we serve, we want to express our deepest gratitude for your support in 2022. Your generosity and dedication have allowed us to provide vital resources and support to those facing one of the toughest battles of their lives.

Your contributions have made it possible for us to offer quality of life services and financial crisis assistance to those in need. Your volunteer hours helped us to gift more than 1,000 Chemo Care Bags to patients. Your support meant that patients facing this disease did not have to feel lost and alone.

We cannot thank you enough for your commitment to our cause. Your support has helped to bring hope and healing to countless individuals and families. We are truly grateful for all that you do to help us make a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer in our area.

It can affect a person's ability to work and earn a living, as well as their overall well-being. Practical help can include financial assistance for medical bills and treatments, transportation to and from appointments, and support for daily living tasks such as grocery shopping and housekeeping.

Cancer can be a very isolating experience and practical help can provide a sense of community and support for patients and their families. This can be especially important for those who do not have a strong support network or who may be going through treatment alone.

The Step Sisters organization provides cancer patients with the resources and support they need to manage their disease and maintain a sense of normalcy in their daily lives. This can be crucial in helping them to maintain a positive outlook and continue their treatment journey with hope and resilience.

Others may feel isolated or left out if they are unable to participate in holiday gatherings due to treatment or physical limitations. Additionally, the winter months can be challenging for people undergoing cancer treatment, as they may be more prone to illness due to a weakened immune system.

Here are a few tips that may help breast cancer patients cope with the challenges of the holiday season:

Set boundaries: It's okay to say no to invitations or activities that may be too overwhelming or physically demanding. It's important to prioritize self-care and rest during treatment.

Get support: Reach out to friends and family for help with tasks or just for emotional support. Consider joining a cancer support group or talking to a therapist for additional support.

Take care of your physical health: Stay warm and dress in layers to protect against the cold. Avoid crowds and wash your hands frequently to reduce the risk of getting sick. Get plenty of rest and follow your treatment plan as prescribed by your healthcare team.

Find alternative ways to celebrate: If you are unable to attend holiday gatherings in person, consider connecting with loved ones virtually or finding other ways to celebrate, such as watching a movie or having a small, low-key celebration at home.
