Candidate for Bozeman Mayor. Working Bozemanites deserve a seat at the table. Our local government has been failing us. Vote for Joey Morrison on November 2nd!

On November 2nd, Bozeman voters must make a choice between a city of empty vacation homes, skyrocketing rent, and understaffed businesses as working people get pushed out, OR a Bozeman that works for all of us, a Bozeman that meets everyone’s needs, where the people who run this city can afford to put down roots and build a future. This housing crisis didn’t start overnight. It’s time for City Com

The results are in!!!!!!

Joey Morrison has secured 5,389 votes, and officially won the Bozeman Mayoral Election. Morrison will take his place as the Bozeman Deputy Mayor in January 2024 and Mayor in January 2026.

It's hard to find words that fully represent what this victory means for our city.

Last night, our campaign finished this race the way we started it: in community. We called hundreds of people and removed barriers that kept people from voting and participating in our democracy. We celebrated, danced, shouted, and shared as a cross- race and cross- class intergenerational movement with a common vision for Bozeman.

We knew this race was going to be an uphill struggle, but we showed that grassroots organizing can determine a Montana municipal election, even up against an incumbent of 13 years.

During our celebration, Joey spoke to his experience growing up in Montana, and the aspirations living at the core of our campaign:

"I was born and raised in Miles City, but I became who I am today here in Bozeman. I watched as economically depressed parts of our state were ignored and cast aside, along with its residents, and I watched as economically prosperous parts of the state were exploited, and so too were its residents. I dream about a working class that determines the present and future of Montana, that decides every election, that occupies every elected body because, to me, that is the only way we get to a livable world for not just ourselves but for future generations."

We are honored to serve our community and keep fighting for the Bozeman we all deserve, now and for years to come.

In solidarity,
Joey & Team

City Commissioner Christopher Coburn is the latest endorsement on a growing list. At times, Commissioner Coburn, has been a lone voice on the commission. In last Tuesday's commission meeting, Coburn advocated for the stronger version of the 2149 ordinance, which would have fully banned Type 3, or second-home, short-term rentals.

The Morrison Campaign is proud to earn Commissioner Coburn's endorsement, and we are hopeful to work, collaborate, and take bold action to build a better Bozeman, together, should Morrison be elected.

Commissioner Coburn stated, "Joey Morrison has been working on the ground, fighting for his community for years now. That’s why I’m proud to endorse him. From his organizing background and crisis work, I believe Morrison will bring the kind of responsive leadership that Bozeman needs, working to engage the community through conversation and bring people together to solve the challenges we are facing.”

📣📣📣This is BIG news!

Former Bozeman Mayor, Steve Kirchoff, is the one of the latest voices to join behind Morrison for Mayor.

In his Letter to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, Kirchoff stated, "[Morrison] loves Bozeman and wants to find a way to blend our city’s many voices into a single purpose that will serve the whole. He is a consensus-builder who is skilled in collaboration, compromise, and group effort. The city commission is a team. Joey understands how to be a team player."

He continued, "Joey is effective, highly intelligent, and well-spoken. His heart and values are in the right place. He will not burn the city down in order to save it. He will take well-measured steps in the right direction. Please join me in voting for Joey Morrison."

🔥We are proud to earn Kirchhoff's vote and we hope to earn yours, as well!
