As we previously announced, February 16th marks the final issuance of SNAP Emergency Allotments. As this date approaches, we know that many SNAP households have questions about this federal change. Here is where you can find answers:

1. Visit www.dss.virginia.gov/benefit/snap.cgi.

2. Contact our temporary information line at 1-855-635-4370. This line is open Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.

3. Check out the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Service page at https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/changes-2023-benefit-amounts

This may look like someone calling you out of the blue and asking for your EBT or P-EBT card number/PIN or texting you a link to click on to 'unlock your account'. The USDA is actively monitoring this fraudulent activity.

As a reminder, Virginia’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) will release emergency allotments of benefits to eligible households on December 16. These mid-month, additional funds are a temporary benefit to SNAP clients. The status of future emergency allotments is unknown at this time and based on monthly USDA approval.
