Shooting into the clouds or shooting into the sun, which is your favorite?

Looking and looking at the sky at golden hour this time of year feels like taking a multi-vitamin. And when you’re on a body of water that mirrors the sky a second time? Felt like a summer’s worth of vitamins in a single night.

Skies like this are why I love the 24mm 1.8 and 24-70mm 2.8. Im convinced that focal length could capture all of heaven if I needed it to. Shot with the Nikon Z6III, the camera body that goes wherever I go in the summertime.

Maybe our job is that of the birds.
Simply to collect the soft things of the world
and sing about it.

To make this umbrella, I used flowers from the craft store and hot glue. Ambient light was all that was needed with that softbox of a sky, and the Z8 + NIKKOR Z 85mm 1.2 S.
