The SendTown Bike Club Dirt Pile Races at New Belgium Brewing start Tuesday, September 29th.

Chip timed. Online registration. Categories for everyone. Food trucks. Beer garden. Free kids races.

It’s a Tuesday night race series that is open to everyone, from experienced racers to people who just want to give racing a try.

Volunteers are needed:
The course needs some work before race 1, so come out Sunday, September 27th at 9:00 AM to help with raking, w**d removal and general course cleanup.

Four years ago, I made a post about Jacob Duffy, a 5th grader at McGraw Elementary with Usher syndrome type 1, after both of his bikes were stolen. Usher syndrome is rare, causing hearing loss, progressive vision loss, and balance issues. When the cycling community got word about his bikes, it rallied, like it always does. We got Jacob set up with two replacement bikes, plus enough cash for a MyCycle donation.

Now, Jacob is a freshman at Rocky and racing in the Colorado High School League. Along the way, he was part of SendTown's Wolfpack and Devo programs, rode with the Webber Middle School MTB Club, and has now joined Ciclismo.

I’ve seen him digging at the Webber dirt jumps, riding Blue Sky and Maxwell, cruising around town, and pinning a number on Tuesday nights at the Dirt Pile and at races across the state.

This kid brings a contagious amount of stoke to practices and the team tent every race. Right now he’s squirreling away memories and experiences that will be impossible to replicate later in life. I’m 100% sure Jacob will keep riding after Usher syndrome takes his vision. I'm not sure how, but I'm sure he will. Mark my words.

It’s pretty damn cool to see what that skinny little 5th grader has accomplished over the last four years.

56 years ago today, the City of Fort Collins - Government started painting its very first bike lanes.

NoCo MTB Fest is this weekend, September 25th-27th, and a few changes are coming for 2026.

After being based at Lory State Park for the past several years, the festival is moving to Inlet Bay Campground at Horsetooth Reservoir.

The weekend includes:

• Group rides
• 100+ demo bikes
• Ninja MTB skills clinics
• The Poker Ride
• Vendor and food areas
• On-site camping
• Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day is Sunday from 9am to noon and is free for kids ages 4 to 16. The morning includes skills challenges, self-guided trail riding, a 6-stop Punch Card Challenge, games, raffle prizes and a bike giveaway. will be on hand to do what he does.

The Poker Ride is Saturday from 10am to 2pm, with five checkpoints on the Horsetooth trail network and awards at 2:30pm.

23 riders are set to roll out on the High Plains Drifter Friday morning. The 300 mile unsupported gravel race starts in Greeley and will take riders across Northern Colorado’s gravel roads, B roads, and singletrack. Of those 23 riders, five are from Fort Collins. The rest are from various parts of Colorado and Idaho.

Howling Cow Cafe opened on July 1, 2014, adjacent to Morning Fresh Dairy Farm headquarters, almost exactly one year after the Bellvue Bean closed. That gap was felt by cyclists who relied on a mid ride coffee stop while riding the Dairy Loop.

Lori and Robert Graves, owners of Morning Fresh Dairy, stepped in to fill that void. Howling Cow offers a comfortable patio with foothill views, coffee, Ummber’s Ice Cream, Noosa Yogurt, baked goods, and a variety of snacks.

The cafe serves cyclists passing through, employees from Morning Fresh, Noosa, and Ummber’s, local residents, and travelers along Highway 287.

Not long after opening, Lori Graves, an avid mountain biker, partnered with YGR as an advertiser, supporting the local cycling scene through both Howling Cow Cafe and Morning Fresh Dairy.

The Rossborough Park Cyclocross Skills Course is painted and ready to rock. The .71 mile course includes: off-camber turns, singletrack, two sets of stairs, a sandpit, two adjustable-height barriers, a 10" barrier/log, and a one-handed turning pole.

Current U23 Time Trial National Champion and Fort Collins native, .kade.kreikemeier raced Time Trial World Championships in downtown Montreal Yesterday. He finished in 27th place with a time of 39:44.05. 2:17.89, back.
