It’s not always about the sunset. Even when it’s blue out there’s always a silver lining. I caught the Sun teasing from behind some clouds over the Flatirons.

The sun broke through the clouds after snowing all day. Nice reward for a hike in the snow.

Bodie Island lighthouse in the Outer Banks North Carolina. I find lighthouses very alluring. Amazing feats of engineering built decades ago, a beacon of light for ships at sea, part of our history.

Flying over Colorado during the last snow only a couple months ago I captured this. Monochromatic, but has a lot of depth.

  

Traveling at sunset is always a great photo op. Subtle pastel colors and elegant shapes. Abstract but real. And it can tell any story you want about traveling, returning to the comfort of home, off on an adventure, visiting family or friends.

During one of the recent snows, I captured this moody but colorful photo. Love the greens and yellows, and the falling snow softened the background.

Sunrise reflected over the Flatirons

Sunset at altitude is uniquely captivating. I wanted to capture the moon setting over the rosy glow of twilight. The sunset symbolizes the end of a challenging year and the promise of a new dawn as we start in 2021. To me, the celestial moon reminds us of the vastness of the universe; we can admire the beauty of an infinite design and simultaneously stand in awe of its vastness.
