A man accused of carrying out a deadly shooting at a Northern California library has been identified as 18-year-old Bradley Scott Sayer.

Investigators say Sayer opened fire inside the Butte County Library on Monday evening, killing two people and injuring a child. He was arrested following the attack and booked into the Butte County Jail on two counts of murder.

According to police, officers responded shortly after 5 p.m. after receiving reports of an active shooter at the library. Dispatchers were alerted by a frantic 911 call in which screams and gunshots could reportedly be heard. Responding officers quickly arrived at the scene and took the suspect into custody.

Sayer had recently graduated from Chico High School. Authorities have not released a motive, but reports indicate investigators are examining his alleged fascination with the 1999 Columbine High School massacre as part of the ongoing case.

The shooting has deeply shaken the community. During a Monday night news conference, Chico Police Chief Billy Aldridge described the incident as both tragic and traumatic for residents. Police believe the suspect acted alone.

The library where the shooting occurred regularly hosts programs for children and teenagers. In the aftermath of the violence, officials announced that all Butte County Library branches would remain closed Tuesday.

Police in Colombia are searching for a British man in connection with the death of a 36-year-old model whose body was discovered inside a suitcase at an apartment in Bogotá.

The victim, Natalia Villalba Angarita, a model from the northern Colombian city of Cúcuta, was found on June 22 after cleaning staff entered the apartment when the rental period expired. Workers reportedly discovered her remains hidden inside a gray suitcase in the bathroom, where the shower was still running.

Investigators recovered several personal belongings from the apartment, including two passports belonging to Villalba Angarita. One passport was expired, while the other was valid and contained stamps indicating recent travel to Spain.

Authorities believe the suspected killing took place inside the seventh-floor apartment and are treating the case as a violent death and possible homicide. Forensic specialists have ordered an autopsy to determine the exact cause and time of death, while also collecting fingerprint, DNA, and other trace evidence from the scene.

According to investigators, a man from Texas was present during the early part of the victim’s stay. A British national later arrived at the apartment on June 17 and left the following day. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the British man carrying bed linens to a laundry area, helping investigators establish his movements during a critical period of the investigation.

Police are reviewing security camera footage, building access records, and the activities of both foreign men as they work to piece together the events leading up to Villalba Angarita’s death.

Both the American and British nationals are currently being sought by authorities. Investigators have not announced a motive, and no arrests have been made.

An Oklahoma woman has filed a lawsuit against a former Arby’s manager after authorities accused the employee of deliberately spitting into her food, an incident that has led to both criminal charges and a civil court battle.

The case began in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, after police received information from a restaurant employee who alleged that then-manager Amanda Hendricks had contaminated a customer’s meal. Investigators later reviewed surveillance footage from the restaurant and said the video appeared to show Hendricks preparing a sandwich before lowering her head toward the food, with saliva allegedly falling onto it.

Based on the investigation, prosecutors charged Hendricks with felony poisoning with intent to injure.

The customer, Jennica Church, said she purchased food from the restaurant after finishing a bartending shift on March 28. Church later reported developing symptoms and was eventually diagnosed with HSV-1, the virus commonly associated with oral herpes. She claims the infection was caused by consuming the contaminated sandwich.

Church and several relatives have since filed a civil lawsuit against Hendricks, Arby’s, and affiliated restaurant operators. The suit alleges negligence and emotional distress, while also citing concerns from family members who shared portions of the meal and feared possible exposure. Family members have publicly expressed worries about the potential impact on spouses and children, though no additional infections have been reported.

A major issue in both cases is whether the alleged contamination directly caused Church’s diagnosis. While investigators contend the surveillance footage shows food tampering, establishing a direct link between the incident and the HSV-1 infection may prove more complex. Medical experts note that HSV-1 is widespread, can be transmitted through saliva, and is often carried by people who show no symptoms, making it difficult to determine the exact source of an infection.

The family’s attorney, Will Blocker, has also alleged that other restaurant employees witnessed the incident and failed to stop the food from being served. Those allegations remain part of the ongoing civil lawsuit and have not been proven in court.

If convicted, Hendricks could face substantial penalties under Oklahoma law, which classifies intentionally contaminating food with the intent to cause harm as a felony offense.

Both the criminal case and civil lawsuit remain pending, and no court has determined whether the alleged food contamination was responsible for Church’s HSV-1 diagnosis.

A 45-year-old registered s*x offender was taken back into custody in Flagler County, Florida, less than 12 hours after being released from prison, after authorities say he failed to report to probation and instead traveled toward a home tied to his past offenses involving children.

According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, Gabriel Pardo was released from a state correctional facility on June 18, 2026, and dropped off at a Flagler Beach bus stop around 10:17 p.m. As part of his release conditions, he was required to wear a GPS ankle monitor and report to a probation office in Bunnell at 8 a.m. the following morning.

Investigators say Pardo never showed up for his scheduled appointment. Instead, data from his monitoring device allegedly showed him walking more than six miles overnight toward a Palm Coast residence where he had previously committed s*x crimes. The location was about 10 miles from the probation office.

When he failed to appear, probation officers alerted sheriff’s deputies early Friday morning. Using GPS tracking data, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Major Case Unit and Real Time Crime Center coordinated with state probation officials to locate him. Deputies eventually found Pardo walking along Old Kings Road and arrested him.

Authorities say Pardo initially denied going to the residence, later claiming he was simply familiarizing himself with the area and said he did not realize he was required to report that morning. Investigators also stated he denied any intent to contact victims.

Officials confirmed there was no evidence he entered the home or made contact with anyone, and that the victims associated with the case no longer live at that address, contrary to what he thought.

Pardo was previously convicted in a 2018 case involving repeated s*xual abuse of two children and the molestation of a third. In 2019, he pleaded no contest and was convicted of multiple s*xual battery charges involving minors. He was sentenced to eight years in prison followed by 15 years of s*x offender probation.

He has since been charged with violating probation and is being held without bond at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.

A 21-year-old man was shot and killed outside a residential building in the Bronx on Monday evening, June 22, 2026.

Authorities said officers responded just before 7 p.m. to a report of gunfire on East 187th Street, between Webster and Park Avenues. When they arrived, they found the victim outside the building suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Emergency crews transported him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, the NYPD said. His identity has not yet been released.

By Monday night, investigators remained at the scene collecting evidence. Blood and a baseball cap were visible on the sidewalk as detectives photographed and examined the area.

A woman is being held on a $3 million bond after a deadly wrong-way crash on Route 315 that authorities say involved a stolen vehicle and left one woman dead and another seriously injured.

Xiaoke Fan was indicted on multiple charges connected to the May 4 collision in Columbus. Prosecutors allege she was driving the wrong way for about four miles before crashing head-on into another vehicle. Passenger Kaitlyn Spahr was killed in the impact, while the driver of the vehicle she was in suffered serious injuries. Both were reportedly heading home after attending a softball game.

During a Monday court appearance in Franklin County Common Pleas Court, Spahr’s twin sister, Rachel Spahr, spoke against granting bond, saying her family had been devastated by the loss and questioning the risk of releasing Fan before trial. She told WSYX that her sister’s death had permanently changed their lives and described Kaitlyn as her closest companion.

Prosecutors also described events leading up to the crash, alleging Fan stole a vehicle after approaching a woman and demanding a ride while threatening her. They said the driver fled the vehicle, after which Fan allegedly drove off before the fatal collision occurred.
