This weekend we to honor gun violence survivors; raise awareness to the gun violence crisis that devastates families across the US, disproportionately in black and brown communities; and support gun violence prevention efforts and policies. Each year, gun violence claims the lives of nearly 47,000 Americans. Last session, I joined the House in passing comprehensive gun safety legislation aimed at reducing gun violence in the Commonwealth.

Incredible news! Yesterday, the Massachusetts House of Representatives unanimously passed a comprehensive data privacy bill that includes the full provisions of the Location Shield Act, legislation I filed and have championed to establish a blanket ban on the sale of precise, personal geolocation data and protect the autonomy, privacy, and security of people in our Commonwealth.
Yesterday's vote is a win for everyone in Massachusetts and for all those who come here seeking care, safety, and freedom. That includes those who travel here seeking reproductive care, gender-affirming care, and the freedoms that our Commonwealth upholds. It also holds particular importance for those from marginalized communities - religious minorities, immigrants, domestic violence survivors, people in recovery, and judges and public safety officers who risk their lives to protect us. And it matters for everyone. Every day, each of us produces a digital footprint that currently can be purchased by anyone for the right price. With this legislation, we prevent corporate entities from collecting and weaponizing our personal information in ways that undermine our fundamental freedoms. This legislation ensures that our commitment to personal autonomy is not just a promise but a protection with real meaning. I am proud to have championed the Location Shield Act and to have delivered this protection for our residents. We each deserve to be the author of our own story, and I will continue to make sure our laws reflect that.
Thank you to Speaker Mariano, Chair Michlewitz, Leader Moran, and Representative Tricia Farley-Bouvier for prioritizing this legislation; to my co-filer Rep. Vieira; and to ACLU of Massachusetts, Reproductive Equity Now, et al. for their advocacy on this legislation.

Yesterday, attended the annual State House Pride Flag Raising to celebrate Pride Month in the Commonwealth. I was proud to stand with my colleagues, State House staff, and Commonwealth residents to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and to show that Massachusetts will continue to be a leader of equality.

Endorsement Alert! Proud to be endorsed by Iron Workers Local 7. With members building the region's hospitals, universities, stadiums, and historic landmarks, Local 7 ironworkers are literally holding our communities together. This work is skilled, it's dangerous, and it matters. Workers who put their bodies on the line every day deserve a State Senator who will fight for them in the Legislature. Honored to have their support.

Friday, I joined the eighth grade class of Melrose Public Schools Veterans Memorial Middle School for 2026 Civics Day at Memorial Hall with The Bridge: A School/Community Partnership. I spoke with the students about my path to becoming a State Representative and what my role entails- including constituent services and community engagement, the collaboration of local and state government, and my legislative priorities. This also included a lively discussion about cell phones in schools. Thank you to all the students who participated in this event- as our future leaders, stay engaged with your community!
