As a small business owner, you don’t have to be good at everything.
Some things come naturally and some you can learn. Other things are just not in your skill set.
We lean on each other to fill in the gaps and push each other out of our comfort zones at the right moments. And we lean on our other teammates, freelancers, and agencies.

She did an accelerated program + worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Spaulding Hospital Cambridge as an oncology nurse, and now works per diem with Spaulding doing nurse training, education, and research! 👩🏼⚕️🩺

Breaking copywriting and design boundaries
In February of 2017, we founded CopyxDesign (Copy by Design), now CXD Studio. We created a platform to join copywriting and marketing with design as a fluid, cyclical process rather than a handoff. We found that when designers were treated like agencies and given projects without copy, impossible deadlines, or cut out of strategy discussions, the work was lower quality, performed poorly, and writers and designers were unhappy. Similarly, when copywriters had no say in design or ability to see templates or take part in user experience research before writing copy, there were many rounds of unnecessary edits and slower timelines.
We believe that with creativity and the freedom to explore, marketing and branding projects can have artistic value while also helping to grow businesses. Our copywriters and designers work together and are highly skilled SEO, brand identity, and digital marketing experts. Since our founding, we’ve helped clients figure out what exactly they are trying to solve, grown their business, and written and designed what was just an idea in their head.
