Nedret Andre
My abstract paintings are about the beauty and interconnectedness of life in our oceans & fast disap Seagrass needs light for photosynthesis.
My paintings are about color and the sensations of light that is essential for seagrass survival. The interconnectedness of a vast number of species sheltered, fed and protected by seagrass habitats is inspiration for Nedret’s abstract landscapes. These quiet plants hold down 50% of the oceans CO2s and provide shoreline protection against coastal erosion. Globally we are loosing 50 football fields

RIver in to Oceans II & III are heading to Vermont!!!
These paintings were painted straight after my trip to Costa Rica. I was in awe of the abundance of wildlife both in the rainforest and the ocean. For me estuaries are an interesting transitional spaces where seagrass can flourish.
Thank you Miika & Guy !

DIALOGUES IN DUAL LANGUAGES
FiveSparks Gallery
7 Fairbank Street, Harvard, Massachusetts
I’m delighted to invite you to Dialogues in Dual Languages, a unique exhibition at FiveSparks Gallery that brings together visual artists and poets in creative conversation.
The exhibition features thirteen artist-poet partnerships, each responding to one another’s work through their respective mediums. The result is a rich and engaging dialogue between visual art and poetry, filling the gallery with unexpected connections and discoveries.
For this exhibition, I collaborated with poet Cheryl Clark Vermeulen on Sway, a four-panel mixed-media piece that we developed together in the studio. Cheryl’s words became the starting point, and together we wove language into the imagery of a large-scale seagrass landscape. The process was joyful, collaborative, and full of laughter—a wonderful opportunity to explore how text and painting can intersect and enrich one another.
A heartfelt thank you to organizers Wendy Dexter and Connie Seams, and to the team at FiveSparks Gallery for making this exhibition possible.
