We're getting ready for 2026! We've had a quiet year in terms of gigs in 2025 (though we did put out a record) but we plan to change that in 2026.
We'll be starting off the year with a trio show at the Lizard Lounge Cambridge on Saturday January 17th with our friends in See You At Rogers and Miss Christine. We curated that bill to give us all a chance to dance ourselves silly in a room we love playing in.
We'll then be doing a long show with full band, guest musicians and much mischief at Burren Backroom Series on Friday February 27th. That'll be a different show - playing The Burren gives us a chance to re-imagine some songs, pull in some favourite covers and bring some of our favourite folks on stage.
There's a few more things in the pipeline that are not ready to announce, but it'll be a good, busy year :)
A new(-ish) song "I Can't Make You Love Yourself" from our show the the Lizard Lounge in June, filmed on the night by our friend Jessica Kion aka Justice Cow

The band formerly known as "Morning Is Rising" are now "The Lo-i"
We formed the band in 2021 and in need of a name for a gig, named ourselves "Morning Is Rising" temporarily after the first song we'd written together.
We'd always intended to change the name, but we'd never quite landed on what it needed to be. We hadn't quite landed on what the band needed to be. (Spoiler: it's folk harmonies, driving guitars, mischief and soul). With a change in the line-up, a clearer musical vision, and our first release coming out, the moment for the change is now. Hello-i :)
Some of the musical journey thusfar is distilled on our upcoming live record "Live at The Burren & Lizard Lounge", out on Friday June 6th.
It was recorded with our friend John Krone on drums at two shows in late 2024. It's comprised of three Chloe V. Green songs, and three Iarla Ó hAllmhuráin songs. It was recorded in Somerville and Cambridge by Joyce In and Ben Vosk respectively. It was mixed & mastered in Ireland by old friend of the band Phil d'Alton.
We'll be celebrating our first release and ringing in the new on Thursday June 12th at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA.
We'll playing on the night with our musical compatriots Field Day and Justice Cow, and will be gleefully borrowing Chuck Hargreaves from Field Day to play drums with us. (Which seems only fair given that we've also given Iarla to Field Day as a bass player on long-term loan).
Come celebrate with us!
